How often do you use your aircon? My focus used to stink if the air con wasn't used for a couple of days then it was turned on.

Possibly try a clean and re-gas. May have things like leaves and things that decompose stuck in your filters. Though I would expect that to smell constantly

I had mines on for the first time properly like in probably 6 months and it was a bit horrible for the first 10min. Smelled like dampness, it's fine now however!

It's bacteria, builds up and smells, worth getting the recharge kit from halfords or something. I've herd it good to run it at sub zero temps to keep the compressor happy, if there not used they will also seize.

Yes. You are supposed to run it during the winter months, as it keeps the seals from drying up and cracking. And remember having the aircon on (intermittently) in the winter helps to clear the condensation on the windows quicker. :D

That is correct. Today i noticed that it is draining the AC water.

Mine did the same, it smelt like sick.

Keep giving it full blast every now and then. Although it does randomly come back sometimes.

Guys, while we are talking about air con, anybody thinks that their air con pumps are noisy? you can hear it quite obviously when you are at slow speed, or stopped when you began to pull away slowly in traffic. Dealer said it is like this, im keen to get more feedback on this. mine is a 58 plate 1.6 petrol if that helps.
Thank you.

Yep, I've noticed this too, but it seems a bit intermittent, or perhaps I just don't always notice it...
