what is this and why is it there?

I don't think anybody really knows, might direct but also restrict airflow.

Well the only thing I can think of is its to reduce intake noise and also restrict airflow to reduce emissions,

Just seems strange that seat have gone through the trouble of designing and producing it, so it must have a purpose?

Just wondering if anyone has had an emissions test with it out? Iv got an old mot with emissions readout with it in, could compare the results, and shed some light on what it's supposed to do.

Won't make any diffrance to the emissions read out due to a tdi only has a smoke test not an emissions test
