My '07 Cupra says LEON, not CUPRA, on the tailgate.

Anybody else got this?

Had me worried there for a moment, confused dot com says CUPRA though! :)

First owner was Bartletts Seat, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Found another one on the net, also from Bartletts, that looks identical apart from one letter on the reg and the CUPRA badging on the tailgate.

Ever been rear ended? They may have put the wrong letters on after the repair

Got me worried again now.

I would imagine not as the whole car looks really clean and the dealer I bought it from supplied it with an HPI check.

Might contact Bartletts in the morning to see if they can shine any light on it.

Potentially been debadged and later rebadged, or worst case scenario it's had a rear end shunt and replacement boot lid at some point.

I bought a car from Bartletts Seat a few years ago. Only 1 year old, regestered brand new by them. A very good price and then a while later I found out why. Crap paint on the bonnet, crap paint on the near side wing, near side headlight way out of alignment, near side front tyre shredded after about 500 miles, missing near side splash guard and a rattle from the near side front that turned out to be a loose clutch pipe.

The car had obviously had a bang to the near side front. I got rid soon after I twigged.

I would never buy a car from them again.

I would say that the most obvious answer is accident damage and the wrong badge fitted after painting. Or debadging and the wrong badge put back on. Would a dealer (first owner) debadge a car though?

To be fair I would have steered well clear of any car if it had the wrong badges on the back. Could have had any amount of damage done to the rear. The boot lid had to have been damages at some point and replaced. Why would anyone debadge a cupra to replace the lettering wrong.
