Few questions... 1 how good are the LCR's in the snow in general??

Is it worth changing the fronts to winter tyres over the bad months? Will set me back 200 all in for 2 fitted on the front and will store the summer ones in the dry over winter. Its our only car and I will need to get to work etc in the snow.

Any other tips or tricks etc??

Cheers

Given the vast number of snow days on the south coast, either learn to drive slower, work from home or ride your bike

Just not a worthwhile investment for the 'cold' weather we don't have

My LCR was absolutely shocking last year, my fronts will be ready for changing soonish and I think I'm going to give winters a try, they're only ~£30ish extra each and supposedly better in all conditions once the temps below 8c I think?

Exactly dan! M0rk... was a wasted comment.... was of no use and you dont know my situation to comment on my driving, circumstances and exact location and roads I have to drive down. Im preparing for worst... its a good thing to do. Always be prepared!

I think everyone just assumes winter tyres are just for snow, like I mentioned above from what I've read they're alot better in every condition once temperatures are low, which they will be from November till Feb/March.

Limited slip diff :) your car will be better in all conditions :) mines going on next week :D

Seriously though, mine was shocking on the OEM set up. It's loads better now but I think winter fronts would be a good investment, although I think you should look into having winter wheels and summer wheels.

I worried about this last year and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. my lcr is lowered as well, the splitter does plough the snow though as mentioned. just take it steady more chance off other idiots hitting you then you being carful in your pride and joy. i use Michelin pilot super sport all year round, would buy winter wheels if i could free some fund up.

My LCR was so bad last year it was embarrassing, one particular incident I was holding traffic up when I couldnt get up a hill, not a very steep one either. Had to turn the car around and find an alternative route!

Just fitted 2x hankook fronts apparently they make a massive difference. Bring on the snow.

Cant complain..BUT, car has issues so HAVE BEEN TAKING IT EASY..THEY WERE WELL GREASY AT FIRST IN THE WET BUT FINE ONE RUN IN A BIT. THEY LOOK A BIT LIKE MONSTER TRUCK TYRES THOUGH

SOZ MAN CAPS LOCK IS KNACKED KEEPS STICKING [:@]:censored:

It's one of those. 18" tyres lots of power and traction control

If you need to get up decent sized hills go for winters all round.

I'd imagine car will drive just aswell as any other fwd hot hatch pal nothing to worry about.
Have to say what a crappy comment from mOrk real helpfull

I really wouldn't recommend just getting two winter tyres for the front axle. Either get all four or get none.

Anything below 7 deg and winter tyres are better.
Saying that I have never bought winter tyres, and have no intentions doing so...ever!
