I traveled a 12 hour round trip down to Essex in the miserable rain at the weekend to pick up a car I've wanted since I drove a Quiksilver, a good few years ago. She wasn't perfect but I knew this was the car for me.
The weather has been all doom and gloom so I thought I would work on the Interior until the weather gets better!
So, first off! It has a tape player...
I bought a Cassete > Aux lead from Argos but it was terrible, knocking around in the tape deck and making cringe-worthy noises. There was only one thing for it...
The handle surrounds have seen better days...
I saw a guide on here on how to remove them, so I decided to pop to Halfrauds for some supplies to smarten them up. That's tonight's job!
The rear windscreen wiper made a horrible noise when it went, so while I was in halfords I bought some new wipers. Bosch Aero Wipers all-round and they work a treat!
The upholstery looks like it could do with a bit of a scrub up and while I'm at it I may as well treat the leather, so again while in Halfords...
I'm going to remove the snail vinyl on the back, maybe get something else but in the meantime, i have these to stick somewhere...
Other plans on the cards are to:
- Bleed the clutch because it needs pumping a few times to go into 1st gear.
- Clean up the engine bay with degreaser and metal polish.
- Change the Driver's side front because it's starting to get a bit low on the tread.
- Do something with the exhaust, because at the minute it's just a loud drone. I would like something with a little more tone, if anybody can share some insight on exhausts?
