I didn't think so either, the seal that runs across the top just doesn't push in so allows water to get in behind it. How i can notice it and the people at Seat can't is beyond me!

Mine went in a few months ago with a rattle behind the dials. They fixed it and it hasn't come back thank god. I'm not sure exactly what was rattling but I'm not really that bothered just as long as it doesn't come back lol. Never noticed if I have dodgy seals but I'll certainly check it out. Other than that one rattle its been good and fingers crossed it is for the rest of our ownership.

Well they fixed, so far so good, but it came back with two long scratches on the drivers pax door:censored: After the 'we look after all cars that come here and we would not scratch them' statement, it was taken back and said scratches were removed. Thank good I will be moving 100 miles away shortly and will not have to suffer such poor customer service again (hopefully )

With "spring" coming, this is happening! Ice...struggling to yank the doors open in the mornings.

They still have not recognised this as a regular fault on the SC. The 5 door has a TPI code.

I have a 4-month old 5-Door FR with exactly the same window seal problem on both back doors. Does anyone have the official SEAT TPI reference number for this fault, as I am hoping to report the problem to my SEAT dealer for correction under warranty in the next week or so?

Hi

I am new to the forum. I also have problems with the door seals and water but my local dealer is adamant no fault exists. Got a 5dr FR for just two months now and already had numerous parts fitted including a new rear screen.
I have to say my local dealer lacks customer service skills so need to take to an alternative garage. If someone has the TPI code it would be greatfully appreciated

Will anybody be kind enough as to let me know why is not Seat (or any car maker) interested in the issues and the client after they took his/her money.
How can't they not know they have a problem with door seals? They notice it, change the rubber seal manufacturer, new seals, check them for 5 minutes in a car wash after install on a test car and fit them to at least all the new cars that are going to roll out the factory doors from then on.
Is it really that hard?
I have my FR on order, should arrive in the couple of weeks. I hope I won't have this issue or am going to be very pissed.
Hope I won't have the same customer / product experience as I had with Vauxhall. As this is why I switched to Seat. :(

I am sorry to hear that.
I switched from Vauxhall because two clutch kits had to be replaced because the flywheel couldn't cope with all the power in rush hour city traffic and after the first kit was replaced the gearbox bearings went too.
Sad thing was none of this was covered by warranty.
I apologize for being off-topic. Keep hoping the Leon will be a better car. :(

I've had a bad experience with Vauxhall also, two Astra's gave me loads of electrical engine trouble which never got resolved. I also spent a lot of money trying to resolve it.

Thank God I did not have any electrical issues at all. And I have done some electrical modifications as adding a subwoofer and amp, a capacitor, moved the internal display of the car in the ceiling, added a 7 inch display, changed the head-unit of the car and added an alarm.
But it has been "carried out by professionals"

Auch! I am really sad to hear about it, m8! Hope you get them sorted. I am sick of worrying. I hope I will get a better car and won't encounter any issues, but if I do I'll try to remember that no car maker is perfect (not even Maybach) and will have the 4 year warranty by my side.

So my dealer tried telling me today that the swirl marks aren't in the paint but just a reflection of the sun. He then went on to show marks in cars waiting delivery. I can see a trip to a detailer to get a full inspection report may be in order.
