glow plug change

has anyone managed to chnage their glow plugs themselves? is it easy or just better off taking to a garage?

wanted to do some engine maintanace to my 2.0tdi (140) so any tips will be much appreciated

Did it myself. Pain in the backside though as they are under the rocker cover.

2 hours!! thats 120 pounds here for plugs that cost 40 bucks. ill do them myself.

Zak, I was lucky to have a mate who is a mechanic. So i got help along the way when i got stuck. On my PD170 it was just a nightmare trying to get the rocker cover off and then on again once finished. it was that much of a nightmare that i even managed to drag part of one corner of the gasket so it didnt seal, spent the next day cleaning the engine bay.
