Engine code for tdi fr 170

Looking to replace our mk1 leon with a facelift (post 2010) mk2 fr 170. Can anyone tell me the engine code for these?

There are two listed.

CEGA from 03/09 onwards.
CFJA from 05/10 onwards.

Any ideas where I find it on the engine? Do they still have the sticker in the boot?

Mine is a 07/10 and is CEGA

CFJA I think is end of 2010 (nov/dec)

Was it built in 07/10 or registered in 07/10. Portugal and UK may be different anyway.

Pre facelift was BMN, first reem of facelift were fitted with CEGA then the later ones CFJA.

the first cfja that i know is from 03/11

They probably used up their stock of CEGA before fitting the CFJA.

Thanks for all the info. But where can I find the engine number? And do they still put stickers in the boot?

Sticker in the boot, inside cover of the service book, data sticker on the timing cover or call a dealer and ask for your code.
