Hello folks.
I got my 3" turbo back fitted yesterday from exhaust uk.
I went for the de-cat option with silenced/resonated mid pipe
I also had the down pipe heat wrapped for good measure.
Well first impressions are it's a bit louder than I thought, dot get me wrong I've had 3" turbo backs before so kinda new what to expect...... However it's just to boomy for my liking.
I wanted something pretty tame low down (as close to stock as poss) which wakens up and sounds awesome on boost.
I had the downpipe heat wrapped and a resonated mid pipe as I thought that should keep the noise levels down a touch.
It sounds nice on boost...... It's just to BOOMY for my liking low down, I've been back to see them today to see what my options are to reduce the boomy noise low down.
Apart from sticking a reducer on before the backbox, the only other option which I'm leaning towards is sticking the oem backbox back on
I'll have the 3" down pipe, the 3" mid pipe will have to taper down to 2.5" to join onto the oem backbox. (Assuming they can do this)
Will this restrict me much??
Also any of you guys on here running stage 2 power with oem back box?
I'm booked in at statller for Revo stage 2 software on the 6th of June so need to sort my zaust out to my tastes.
Any info/help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
