Im also looking at bigger turbos something like a gt30 or some kind of hybrid unit.
this is the kit im looking at http://www.uspmotorsports.com/CTS-Turbo-Golf-R-2.0-TFSI-Turbo-Kit.html
most people find the oem ko4 turbo fine, with water injection then 400+ is possible.
im wanting about 450-500bhp.

It's kind of pointless having 500bhp in a front wheel drive car though?
4wd is boring, have you ever drove an S3 jesus the most boring car ive driven. the 4wd system take all the fun out of driving.
you do know that you dont have to drive it like you stole all the time.
you dont always do 1/4 mile runs and traffic light runs, where is there on uk roads you can drive like a nutjob?rolling start would keep up no problems
im going big power eventually, with all the chassis mods nearly sorted,a diff,it will be an animal, then tracking it,alot lighter than 4wd also
No of course you don't have to, but why have power that you could not use even if you did want to? I get that you want power and that's fine, I hope you end up with what you want, but I just don't think you will be happy driving on eggshells all the time, trying to gently feed in the power all the time.
By the way, a well set 4wd system will let you use all of the power and can still be entertaining to drive. Audi set up their systems to be safe and easy to drive, if a little uninspiring. You wouldn't necessarily have to do the same.
500bhp through the front would spin the wheels in every gear. A rolling start would not help. To get the power down you would need to driving at stupid speeds already, so maybe a rolling start from 125mph?
ive seen many 400,500,600bhp FWD cars perform very well on tracks just look at golfzilla on the mk5 golf forum 511bhp.

500bhp wouldn't spin in every gear if you knew how to drive.
