Guys

I have some issues with interior lights. I have the foot well lights on when doors open but lights in roof and sides do not come on. I am able to operate these on the switches and all is fine. Is there a relay for these and if so could someone point me in the right direction? With the darker evenings coming in it's getting more difficult for the children to see the seatbelt clips etc. Just hoping there isn't some silly module for control of interior lights!!!!

Cheers.

I would have thought there would be a relay for them because they stay on for a couple seconds after the door is closed so must be on some kind of timer, I have never noticed if the footwell lights go out instantly when door is closed and the interior lights stay on - if this is the case it would mean that the interior lights would be on a separate supply. I will have a look next time I get into car to see if the footwell lights do go out before the interior.

Thanks for the reply any idea of pointing me in the direction of the relays! or a layout drawing would be good for the Alhambra.

Cheers.

Just had a look at my 2008 vehicle and the interior lights, footwell lights and the puddle lights at the bottom of the doors all go off at the same time - either when they time out or when the ignition is turned on. I will see if I can locate a wiring diagram for the lighting circuit. What year ids your vehicle. The relays are all hidden up behind the panel to the bottom left of the steering wheel above your knee - behind the fuse board.

Hi mine is a 2005. If I open the door foot well lights go on and puddle lights on. Close door all turn off. I will need to start taking bottom of dash off to find relays. Thanks.

hi Dizzy. I can scan and send you a wiring diagram for interior light circuit for pre facelift model which might point you in the direction of locating the fault. Need PM address or e mail address.

Just had quick look at the diagram and I think that if your footwell lights are on then your interior lights should be on as they all have the same feed. Does glove box light come on - this comes from same feed as interior lights. I think that you may just have a broken feed wire to the interior lights. Can you do a continuity check from door lights to interior lights.

Quick update, rear interior light all sorted, children had hit the button over it wasn't on or off! Even though I had turned it on and off to test.. As for the front still looking into it, the guy at my local garage has suggested the light fitting itself could be at fault as it's on a PCB. Something I will look into the more important one is now working.

Does anyone know where the switch for the glove box is??? Mine was on all the time so have had to remove the bulb. Is it hiden or in the front inself?

That sounds like it was a nice cheap repair to the interior lights. I think the glove box light switch is to one side of the glovebox - operated by a plunger switch. Will check the book to see.

That's the type of fixes I like! just got to sort out the passenger rear door central locking not working. There are a few cut wires in the Gator. Dry weekend job.

Had a look on Elsawin disc and it's very vague.
1 open glove box door.
2 pull door upwards gently until hinge pins unhook.
3 pull door clear of top cover flap.

That's it. I have done it in the past - needed to get behind glovebox.
I will have a look at Haynes manual to see what that says.

The wiring is crap in the door gaitors.
