My 2013 Leon SC has the optional full leather seats. I have always thought it was real leather. Then my gf mentioned she thought it was artificial and I checked one of the seams on the pocket and it seems like it is indeed artificial. I'd be glad if it is artificial though, just for the ethical reasons :) I remember it was described as real in the manual but I am not so sure looking at it now. What do you think?

BTW I love the seats, they never feel sticky in the hot summer or cold in the winter and are so easy to clean. The only complain I have is about one of the raised cushions on the drivers seat that has become slightly broken or something.

The central strip of the leather seats is indeed leather. The side bolsters are what Seat call Simil leather, so not real.[B)]

Most 'full' leather interiors in cars contain some 'artificial' leather ( allegedly from the cows in Milton Keynes) it usually states this in the brochure. Its usually the bits you are not regularly in contact with. ;)
A handy way (and a lot cheaper) to achieve the 'full leather feel' is to obtain a pair of lederhosen. Or a calfskin posing pouch. Just be careful of chafeage. Leather driving gloves and a vest would complete the effect. Also handy for those Village People reunion meets. :D

If you look at the Seat online spiel then it confirms that full leather isn't actually FULL leather.

Latex looks good, but chafes! :D

Yes indeed. Although I prefer latex myself. More..... Stretchy.... ;)
I prefer leather chaps myself for the comfort and freshness
