I went to reopen my case with Seat CS. They told me that my car doesn't have a technical problem !?!?

They said to take it up with the dealer, back to square one. It's costing me valuable time and petrol and they haven't made any progress since day one. Useless...

I'll not buy a Seat again.

Mine did this last winter but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle at the time to take it to the dealers. It's now done it this morning (temp was 3c) and I suspect will do it tomorrow morning as it is currently below freezing just now. Same as everyone else has mentioned it only affects the offside headlamp. Mine only resets once the engine has heated up and the ignition is turned off then on again. I've decided I'm going to phone the dealer and also show them this thread as it clearly an issue. No doubt they'll tell me there are no fault codes so they can't do anything. Love the car but things like this are starting to irritate me.

Good luck mate, mine normally resets the first time, yesterday it took two attempts, which invove turning the ignition off and removing the key. Its not on, remember theres a video at the top there too showing the problem. I think below 8 degrees seems to be the zone for mine so far. Good luck and I hope you get sorted ;)

Seat CS tell me there's a software update to address this now. I need to find the time to book my car in to try it out.

I too had (still have) the issue. I had both front lights changed by the dealer but to be honest I still can't see any difference. There are two issues... 1) The top corner LED (just one, not the whole unit) on the drivers side unit is way brighter than the all the others. I can see this in the reflection if I am behind another car and 2) the passenger unit aims a bit lower than the drivers side. They changed the unit and "sorted" it but I don't see any difference. It is not massive, maybe just one inch if pointed on a wall but it is visible. It does piss me off especially as I am due an MOT next summer.

I started to think that it is normal, maybe the drivers unit aims higher due to the settings.

One other thing to mention. I don't have Auto lights. I also switch the lights off before the engine most of the time. Matter of habit, I suppose. For this reason the lights do not readjust too often.

not convinced they're just trying to fob you off. Only happens to mine when it's cold so can't see how a software update would rectify it?

I've not had this issue, first time I've seen it mentioned.

Congrats!:) Some people are luckier than others!

Although that is the same line the garage churns out about anything but in your case theres a high likelehood that its the truth. Whereas in their case it definitely isn't

It seems some people have escaped it, there are others that havent noticed it but one day its turned up. Which makes me wonder if was always happening and they didnt notice!

I park facing a garage door and notice it more readily, depending on the light on your daily route you might not notice it!

Now that the weather is colder again, I too have made a terrible video of it happening upon startup.

(Yes, I know the iPhone should have been horizontal, and yes, I know I should have gone further in to the garage to make the lights more obvious).

After I filmed this, I pulled into the garage a bit further and then spent 10 minutes trying to make the car repeat the fault. It wouldn't play ball though.

No issues with my ST, new in may 2014. Lives out on the street. Personally think the LEDs are a step up from my old e90 3series.

Is the condensation really common? Ive noticed a small bit but nothing more than on my previous Leon (Mk2)?

More common in most cars with LED lights, particularly in full LED's. LED's don't generate much heat making it take longer to dispel any built up condensation.

Luckily I've never had a problem with mine, nor the headlight leveling issue as per this thread.

Honestly the video is fine, it shows the problem pretty clearly. I haven't had this issue on my 64 plate ST, but will keep an eye out for it. For those who are seeing this problem frequently it might be worth recording each cold start just in case the problem happens - you would then have multiple pieces of video evidence to take to the dealer or Seat CS.

Thanks NB :)

I've got a 5am start on Saturday morning so it'll be a case of video-at-the-ready. I really wanted to capture the outside temp on the display too.

If it behaves itself then I'll be doing some head scratching :)

Never heard of this issue before. Surprised there are a good few people affected by it. Hope everyone gets it sorted.
