Not 'today', but this week:
My third SEAT arrived, probably one of the last 65 plate Leons to be registered. It's a lease car, and a bit of a cost-cutting exercise for me - according to my man maths, the savings in fuel bills over my current Freetrack will cover the monthly lease payments. The Freetrack was averaging 28mpg over 17K miles a year.
It's a silver FR 150, diesel, and apart from the tech pack is bog standard right down to the 17" wheels. Compared to the Freetrack it's missing a few features, I wasn't expecting an umbrella holder, but only one power socket is a bit stingey and surely auto lights and auto wipers should be standard on a £20K+ car?
It's obviously still running in, but performance seems strong, and on my second journey I managed to get 66mpg over 35 miles in 'normal' mode (a forced 60mph cruise on the M40 and M25 due to volume of traffic). The worst I've seen is 36mpg, which still beats the best I'd get from the Freetrack.
With it being a lease car I can't do any major mods, but I'd like to get the usual features activated on VCDS (folding mirrors/rear lights/staging), I'm going to fit fan washer nozzles, and maybe plasti-dip the grill surround and the bit behind the number plate black. Getting the roof wrapped gloss black would be good, but not sure I can justify it when it's not really 'my' car.
