After 18 months of driving a FR150 tdi I've taken the plunge and Px'd for a used 2015 Cupra 280 SC DSG performance pack! which I collect Saturday.

I originally went for the tdi for economy and practicality but my mileage has dropped (car never warms fully up and does dpf regens more than id like). After driving the Cupra I was taken aback as to how familiar yet completely different it was to the FR tdi!

Anyway, the car drives fine and is clean enough but, what issues are common on these? How are they in the real world? My girlfriend is not impressed that ive gone from a 5 door Tdi to a 3 door petrol!

Also how much is everyone paying on insurance? I've been quoted anything from £400 - £1500 fully comp, 9 years NCD aged 33.

Had the car a few days and I'm massively impressed by it. Somewhat spoiled however by what I think is a poor accident repair. I'm contacting the dealer tomorrow to discuss, I'll give them opportunity to rectify the issue.

Looks like it's had a shunt in the drivers wing, wing doesnt align properly, nor does the front bumper. It's also missing the polystyrene bit from the door shut :(

It's in at a vw approved body shop (which I've used before) to be assessed and estimated on Thursday afternoon and get any remedial work needed booked in.

there's an owner on here who upgraded from Ibiza to Leon Cupra because they needed a bigger boot, so told his wife the only one with a big boot was a Cupra. Got away with it too.....

The overriding vote goes to my 3 year old daughter who says "it's well fast dad" in fairness it's the easiest three door car I've had to strap a kiddie into, I don't feel I've lost any practicality at all.

I'd just add, better in the snow that I expected... Considering DSG, 19" wheels and PS Cup 2s. I've also had the issues looked at and am awaiting a call tomorrow regarding getting the car booked in and sorted, so far so good.

Further update to this, dealer had the car 5 weeks and hasn't solved my list of issues to my satisfaction. Quite a phone call going to happen tomorrow.
