Just purchased a 2014 FR 150bhp diesel from a Volkswagen garage. The 12v or cigarette lighter in the centre console looks like there is something missing? Either the lighter or a cover for the 12v socket? The garage are robbing me off with "that's how it should be" and it definitely isn't a missing lighter as the car wasn't originally order with a 'smokers' pack'? Think they're spinning me a yarn?! Can someone please shed some light? Thanks

Mine looks a bit like a dummy lighter, I keep it in the centre armrest bin and have a USB charger in the 12v socket.
its a second hand car you cant expect little things like this to be perfect!!

I think I tried the USB port in front of the gearstick before but I don't think it has the power to charge an iPhone (not my 6, anyway) so I'm using the 12V socket under the armrest with a USB power plug in it instead. It is just that - a power socket with a plastic blank in as standard and not a lighter socket which is an optional extra if I remember correctly?
