Hi guys,

I just wanted to ask the question, what are your favourite /best bang for your buck low cost modifications to your mk2s?!

I currently have a mk2 cupra, so looking to get a few ideas on what to do next on a low cost while I save for a Stage 1!

Cheers folks!

The anti lift kit is a pretty good start although at around 130 quid it's nearly half the price of a stage 1 map lol

Low cost in terms of hp? Stage 1 map...... that's it.... After that things get more expensive and bang for your buck goes out of the window.

You could smash out the pre-cat if you're handy with spanners, that's a free mod that will net a couple extra hp at map time

Stage 1 map is the best £/hp mod you can do

Lowering springs are a relatively cheap mod that improve the looks, ride and handling

Thanks guys, been looking at stage 1 maps, got a few things wanting done before I get that done, full service etc.

Have had a look at the Anti lift kits, have seen a few around the £160 mark, which would yous recommend?

Also the low cost mods are anything from performance/handling to visual mods!

Just want to see what little low cost/DIY mods people have done!

Thanks for the responses so far!

Little mods such as the bonnet lifter, boot pop mod, 3m splitter tape, spraying interior trims, calipers painted, stubby aerial, wind deflectors, rear wiper delete kit and spacers are cheap (ish) to name a few.

I've done all the above apart from the wiper delete.

42 dd shifter bushes - makes gear changes more precise
Short shift kit
Remove the connection for the sound resonator - fake sound thing - makes interior quiter
Insert for the dog bone mount
Vcds things like speed display in mfd - my fav.... needle sweep, alarm beep, harzard lights on hard braking delete
Swap bulbs for ice white bulds - leds are a pain
Vinyl the front lower bumper/badges/roof

A simple but effective mod is white LEDs all over. If you haven't already then they really make a difference.

Also a decent HID kit for £30 is a good use of money.

I would save your money for the Stage 1 map. Best mod I ever made to my Leon.

I think de badging the chrome writing off the back , and plastidiping the S badge black and a rear wiper delete , makes the car look much cleaner imo

Also white bulbs and hid kit like said above

debageing the back and spraying the s is what I had in mind and was thinking like lowering kits or a air intake would that be any good towards the car

You can do both of them for a tenner , it's nothing takes half a hour blacking the lights out too looks good if your going for a black theme

Where did you get that intake from mate and is there any other ones you may advise getting and what about a spoiler trying to up the exterior of the car, then going to move to do the interior so any advise on what to get for the interior of the car too
