Has anyone had, particularly in 1.4 ibiza cupra, had any experience remapping the dsg gearbox? Any feedback and would or could you remap without mapping the engine if need be? Thanks...

Jfautomotive,

these people map gearboxes. 1000% worth it

If your engine is stock, dont do it. DSG mapping could reduce the time between 1-2 2-3..., increase the torque limit and if you need it put Launch control. If you have too much torque, you can reduce the clutch slip with a good DSG mapping. So my advise is: go for ecu stage 1 is better at this time if your ecu is still stock

btw, got a full miltek and went from 212bhp/228ftlbs to 230/250ftlbs car drives so much better.

just need a DSG remap. ill probably end up at custom code.

I'm with Andresv87 on this. OP if your car isn't mapped it's not worth it. Imho even if you're stage 2 it isn't worth it. You basically don't need it. The only thing you'd be using is LC. If you went hybrid or more where the DSG can't handle the extra torque a DSG tune is a must but not something aggressive (like faster shifts) if you don't have upgraded clutches.

Big-Pete if you do it make sure the DSG tune increases the clamping pressure (not everyone offers this) or you'll be needing new clutches very soon.
