Gateshead
Decided to book my car in for a custom remap at Big Fish Tuning, They came highly recommended by fellow enthusiasts.......

http://www.bigfishtuning.co.uk

Headed down from Gateshead on the 29th December for a 12:00 booking.

They've had a new rolling road fitted which has taken them sometime and effort to do as its dug into there factory floor with a pit underneath. There still in the mist of sorting out the sound proofing but the upstairs viewing gallery is done, theres plenty of magazines, tea and coffee and a big screen tv/PlayStation etc.

There a registered APR dealer but I was more interested in there custom remaps for now.my cars power delivery has always felt a little hesitant and the first run showed the car was holding back about 4.5krpm as the timing was to advantage (+5.3deg).

The car was only making 249bhp opposed to its 261 it's supposed to have.some dater logging later and the new map onthe car then some more data logging (took about 3hours total from arriving) the transformation was complete .

The bottom 2 curves being the first standard run and the top 2 tuned

Time to change my sig

Im over the moon with the map and the car I'd now running over standard and the overall experience of dealing with John and his tech @ big fish tuning, they come highly recommended from me!

Happy days :D

No problems at all , still going strong.

Budget for a clutch though it won't last forever

Cheers for the reply mate. Everyone seems to be going mad for R-tech (for good reason I hear) But I don't fancy having to buy and change the springs back to standard to get it on their rollers(I bought the car already lowered) And I've been prepping the car for the past year gearing up for a remap, new clutch, flywheel, coil packs, spark plugs, pcv valve and a gfb dv+ valve.
Is yours lowered at all?
Did you have problems getting onto the bft rollers?
What mods are you running to get that output?

Thanks again

Lowered springs aren't usually an issue at R-Tech - it's the cars that are 'slammed' on coilovers that are the issue. If you ring them up and speak to Ben, explain the car is on springs and how low it actually is then I'm sure you'd be ok

My car isn't lowered, and apart from a pipercross air filter it's standard (engine wise) to make that power.

Look at the pictures above you'll see BFT's rollers are built into the floor, with a pit dug out so they can anchor the car down onto the dyno, pretty cool setup. No problems getting the car on/off the rollers

R-Tech have a solid reputation, and for the money you get a few more customizable features than other places after all Niki is a TFSI specialist I think it's all he maps (big customer base down there and loyal vag fanboys)

BFT is on the doorstep and also have a solid reputation, I think the only cars they won't map are French lol.

Thanks for the input guys. Going to be looking at a downpipe and sports cat then I think bft will be getting a phone call.

Also why would you actively buy a French car!? Ha ha

Well got my 07 leon cupra remapped at big fish tuning today. A bit disappointed finding out my car had already had half a crap map on it. But with some big fish custom magic I went from 290hp and 395nm to a healthy and safe 311hp and 399nm. Reckoned I would have made 315hp if I used 99ron fuel instead of the 97ron I normally use. Very happy drive home, once the traffic was clear. Would recommend big fish to anyone interested in a map..... Now where's the nearest tire place cause the fronts won't last much longer!!! Ha ha
