Help! Remapping

Hi there looking for advice/experience, I've just bought a leon tsi 1.4 150 and I'm looking at getting it remapped. I called my local revo specialist and they told me they could bring the power upto 200hp, then I called another remapping specialist and they told me they wouldn't touch it as the tsi engines are soft, now I'm a bit worried. any help or info would be greatly appreciated or anyone has got experience with the same car thanks

Revo wouldn't touch a car and kill it, looks bad on there reputation, how ever they may be being to cautious with components like your clutch.

It's hard to say, my cupra 290 Revo is running 382bhp from 290bhp and I completely abuse it left right and centre once to temperature. But I have peace of mind knowing most components in it where designed for such harsh abuse, only thing I replaced was an updated clutch

I agree I have a 280 running 375bhp but with a DSG box no issues on the clutch. I think the big tuners take a cautious view for a number of reasons and they do seem to do a lot of testing.

Over on the VW Sites there are a number of comments re the 1.4 and remaps (both good and bad) and on REVO Site i found this technical support notice re the twincharger TSI engine (sorry not sure if that is yours) http://www.revotechnik.com/support/technical/14tsi-twincharger-engine-issues but from my experience the Revo Garage will advise you and there is a 30 day money back guarantee if you are not happy.

As always the extra power will put extra strain on the Engine and downstream components and add to your insurance / service cost (more frequent oil changes) but talk to the Revo garage and explain your concerns they should be able to advise you. I believe that two options were available: the 1.4 140 and the 1.4 150. Worthy checking their opinion for the exact model.
