Hi,

I have found the ones you have suggested, unfortunately has none available to buy atm.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-STABIL...245732&hash=item5684053674:g:hrQAAOSw9uFW8l2Q

When you purchased these which options did you select:

MAKE / MODEL / YEAR / VARIANT / TYPE

Just want to get the right ones for mine.

Cheers

Has anyone tried doing this on an ST yet?
It's a heavier lid I guess so might need more substantial struts but it was a feature I used a lot once I'd fitted it to my 280, and I miss it on the ST. I kept the struts so might have a squiz later, once the monsoon passes....

Looking to fit these too.. Out of stock again...
Will do this when back in stock....

Update:

I found these instead. Not as cheap but not far off. I have compared the specs to the one listed above by WhiteCupra290 and they match. Although they list the length as being 515mm.. Hope this is a typo. As the OEM P/N's and model number are the same. Also it's title says bonnet and tailgate...

So fingers crossed they do the job...
Thanks to all for the info... Great little mod.....

Update : update : Just measured the strut on mine and fully open it is exactly 515mm in length.... Feel a bit better now..

Only thing you may have to do is install them the other way up, i.e cylinder at the top. Depends on which end has the cranked bit on.

Funny you say that as I did see in a pic or video that they were upside down.... Thanks for the info.
No problem, they work fine. Mine are on the second car now , missus does complain sometimes that the boot is harder to shut but I tell her it's breast developing

UPDATE: Fitted the struts this morning. Works great. Here are a few pics of the install.

First I made a support out of some pipe.. Misses still in bed.

Then all you need is a small screwdriver.

Use this to carefully pry off the spring clip...But not all the way off. Just enough so the clip releases from the nipple.....

Then simple pull away the strut.

Do the same on the bottom.

Then I cleaned up the nipples and applied silicone grease to the inside of the new struts...

Fitting is reverse...

Slightly pop off the spring clip on the new strut and push it over the nipple. Push the spring clip home and that's all she wrote....

On these like Kazand said earlier, they are fitted upside down because the angle fitting is on the opposite end.
