Can anyone point me in the direction of replacement wheel centre caps for the 290 multi-spokes please? Mine are badly corroded at the edges.

If your car’s still under warranty, you may be able to get them replaced for free at your dealer - I got some corroded ones replaced under warranty with my VW.

If you need to buy replacements, be aware not all centre caps are the same size, so ensure you get the correct size for your wheels (VW caps have the part no. on the reverse, so assume the Seat ones do too). There are lots of cheap imitations on eBay, so always best to buy genuine Seat ones - either from your dealer or a seller who has confirmed they’re genuine Seat caps, as they should last longer than the cheap copies.

If your wheels have a diamond cut finish and this extends to the centre of the wheel, be careful when removing the old centre caps; prising them out of the centre bore of the wheel with something like a small screwdriver could damage the lacquered surface, which could then lead to the onset of white worm corrosion. Better to remove the wheels from the car and push the centre caps out from the back.

Belated thank you’s for the great info everyone. The OEM ones are a bit steep so I might leave this for the dealer to sort next time, especially considering the possibility of scratching the alloys. Cheers again.

Please take the wheels off and remove them from the rear, DO NOT lever them off from the front. You would damage any wheel let alone diamond.

Make sure the dealer does it properly too.

I bought some ebay ones with a different part number (56mm) but they don't fit (they are too small). I've got the standard 290 2017 19" alloys.
Some C*** nicked all 4 of mine months ago. The part number you've shown looks hard to find.. you got a link?

Would drilling the centre and pulling them out work?

It should work fine. I’d recommend sticking a piece of masking tape on the centre cap before drilling it, to minimise the risk of the dril bit slipping off the cap when you start drilling and damaging your wheels.

VW conveniently provide a tool in the car tool kit for removing the plastic wheel bolt covers which have a hole in the centre of them - I don’t think the Seat bolt covers do, so you probably don’t get a similar tool. It looks as if it’d be ideal for removing wheel centre caps by inserting the hooked end into the hole you drill.

I got the tool in my Seat Cupra, granted its an old one.

Just seen this on youtube not sure if it works on our cars

I have one of those centre cap hooks supplied with my Leon, no idea why. That would work a treat with a hole!

That is some strong tape!

Anything that takes longer than taking the wheels off = just take the wheels off
