...the traffic light grand prix is a very common practice in Finland.
I think so far, that I remember, only a RS3 and a Porsche Panamera had me
I think that both the AWD and the FWD would hit the limiter before the FWD caught up from a standstill.
Likely, with a rolling start, the FWD would win, since it has less rolling drag from the Haldex, that is always 10% engaged, and adds more weight.
But on day to day driving... I love how planted the 4drive is, something that most FWD cars aren't, specially under heavy braking, where that rear comes really light - that doesn't happen with the 4drive.
And then, each to their own, but I have been enjoying this winter going everywhere sideways on the fresh snow, and ripping empty car parkings at night like a rabid teenager...

Capable yes, but not so sure it’s as capable as you think.
It’s a short lap, at ~90 seconds.
Track looks cold and damp to me.
Driver is sliding in the photos, not the quickest way round the track. Was he showboating in his lap?
If the R is running track Cup 2 tyres they need a Warner track.
I’m not a die hard Cupra R fan, or Ateca basher, but 1.5 seconds over a 90 second lap considering everything is not as close as you think.
We haven't got the Ateca Cupra here yet, but I will be giving it a thrash when they do. But a few road test opinions say it's very capable, but can't live with a Leon Cupra in roll ons or cornering. It's a function of its extra weight and height. Physics.

When I went with my girlfriend to pickup her new Ibiza FR I commented I have a Cupra 4drive... Since I don't look like I could afford one, he was a bit dubious and asked me for the plate to check on their system, and also hoping he could sell me something.
He then proceeded to ignore my girlfriend and spend the next 15 mins trying to convince me to go and test-drive the Cupra Ateca (...which by the way was in a different city...) and repeating how surprised I would be with it... Until he checked all the extras in my car and gave up
But he insisted that it handles surprisingly well... If one of those makes its way to my local dealership, I might give it a test drive just to know what the fuss is all about.
