That's two of us and I have already had the VW Speed limiter removed so I am sure there will be TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS found to this problem.

If the ABT module is piggy backed onto the ECU they can keep it (no better than a tuning box)

And i suspect the module has been created for the GPF equipped cars and not the (better) previous generation engines

As @silky16v has said this box will be for the PPF/GPF cars.

But they already do the module for the Carbon already, and that IS 370. Still not convinced the R will get the full 370 and more likely the 350 that the PPF/GPF Ateca Cupra gets.

The ABT module is much more advanced than the aftermarket tuning boxes you are thinking of.

Plugs into a lot more things, is not tweakable, so can’t be messed with. Has safeguards built in if things aren’t right (eg oil temp to low, to high, intake temps to high, low atmospheric pressure).

There is a reason these come with warranty in Europe already.

If it keeps the warrenty it would be better than other tuning boxes.. although I would be happier with a flash and it would be cheaper for them too.

Have we anymore updates on this?? Trying to sort my best options as no tuners where I live in jersey. So would need to be revo or similar like this. Or travel to UK for proper map. Thoughts?

Order books for the ST R open on the 9th. I doubt we'll hear anything about further options for other cars any earlier than that and probably not on that day either.

I’ve just read the article on Piston Heads about this tune and it states that ABT have added less restrictive exhaust/emission devices to achieve this 70hp.

That, EA888 experts will know, is a 70hp and 59lb ft improvement on Seat's specification. It's been achieved through the fitment of Abt's own freer breathing Y-pipe exhaust system and a less-retrictive sports catalytic converter, as well as a custom engine map within a new ECU. It speaks volumes of Abt's belief in the 2.0-litre four-pot's strength that no internal modifications have been made; a two year or 100,000km warranty is provided

I wonder and gonna take a good guess that it will be a pre-WTLP downpipe and as the car is limit run you can get away with this like Mitsubishi did back in the day with the MR models.

But engine map I’m not convinced?
It will be a plug in module unless ABT have managed to get VAG group to publish the engine map into ODIS and make it available for over the air reflash at the dealers

Is this the Cupra R ST its talking about, or the older none WLTP cars? If its the older not WLTP cars, then its BS.

However from reading that it does seem to link in with the exhaust system, there is a Y exhaust outlet on the WLTP 4Drive Estate cars. Where as pre WLTP was just software.

Suspect this will mean it won't become a dealer fit plug in box, but explains why they can get 370 rather than 350.
