Afternoon All!

I'm new to this community as I have just purchased a Seat Leon FR 56 Plate (2007) so firstly just want to say hello!

I have a few things in mind about what I would like to change about the car. I believe my car is the Pre-facelift version. I would like to change the Rear bumper & Center the exhaust like the Cupra. I would like to change the front bumper into something a little meaner. I would like to change the Rear & Front Headlights to LEDS. I would like to change the spoiler. I would like to black out the front grill and remove the seat logo. I have been reading into a few of these parts and keeping reading things along the lines of ** If you wanna change the rear headlights you need to have the facelift model or you need to change the boot to the facelift boot. Etc Etc. Im just a bit confused as it sounds like I am not able to just switch out parts like for like. It seems like If I want to change certain things I have to change other things!

I guess my question is do you have a clear outline of what needs to be changed if you want Facelift parts on your pre-facelift leon.

Any help to clear my mind would be helpful!

I'm not a mechanic or pro on this sort of stuff but I thought the following... (It's possible that I am completely wrong)

The rear bumpers on pre/facelift are interchangable but the front bumpers are different and so are the head light positions so if you got a facelift front bumper you'd need the facelift lights to go with them for positioning.

If you want a center exhaust that's from the K1/Areo Cupra I think as normal Cupra's have it to one side I always thought... Or there is the twin center exhaust from the Cupra R... Either of those will need a new rear diffuser fitting if the information about the rear bumpers is correct above...

As for LED's for head lights some people have done it but i'm not sure if they're canbus safe in which case they will bring up a light out error on your dash for the rest of time lol you can buy sidelights and indicators in LED that are Canbus safe I think but the Leon electrics are very sensitive lol

For the spoiler you "should" be able to get the spoiler extension that I have on my R which is minimal but makes a difference but like you mentioned i'm not sure if you can get it to fit on a pre facelift boot.

For a meaner front end you could put on the pre facelift TRC front splitter which should make things a lot better

In reading this i've not been much help but people may be able to confirm or not what i've got lol

Cheers

Make sure the cam follower has been changed before you spend any money on mods.

A very simple and cheap job to do but ultimately fatal to the engine if it's not been changed. Many of these engines don't have the follower changed as many people/garages dont know about them.

Worth replacing the diverter valve also if no records show that it's been done.

Cheers mate,

Not sure if these were done. Would the Cam follower have been changed if the belt was changed?

Easiest way to tell is to remove it and have a look, they only cost £38 and take about 30 mins to change.

If your car is remapped it will go through cam followers almost twice as quick as a standard car.

Loads of videos on YouTube showing you his to change the follower and what happens if it doesnt get changed
