Hi,

I have an 18 plate FR leon facelift which unfortunately has the standard 17" alloys. I want to change them for the Performance 18s but cannot find out if the old or new performance alloys are the right ones for it. I've seen an 18 plate with these alloys

But these are also available.

Hopefully someone knows.

Thanks!

First one is the pre-facelit MK3 18inch rims, and the 2nd one is the facelift Mk3 18inch rims. At one point, both were offered at the same time on facelift (as above brochure), but the latter also has a black version more recently. Both should be the same 225/40 R18 for tyres.

Cool thanks that explains why I saw them on an 18 plate.

yeah you even see some 19 plates with the older of the 2 styles, guess they have been sitting for a while, thankfully my 68 plate has the newer wheels which imo look better

shame the FR came with those 17" wheels, they are dreadful even the pre-facelift ones were acceptable, but the facelift ones are

Wow I'm surprised they're on that new plates! I'm on the 17s sadly. The car was a steal price so I accepted it as changing them isn't difficult. I'm struggling to find the facelift for sale as a set, so I may have to source 4 individuals over time or get the cupra 19s. There's a set that look amazing but I'd have to keep these 17s for the day the car is sold lol.

Thanks for the help though

They are both available on both.

Since WLTP or most EZ cars will now have the 2nd alloy. They are both different versions of the performance alloy.

I nearly got the 1st ones you mentioned for mine as think they look great but went a little different instead

Try Seat themselves don’t think they are badly priced

I found a company that made the 1st wheels a replica alloys in the white silver and they weren’t expensive. I’ll see if I can find the site

They both look nice, model year 17-19 can have either or dealers put them on before WLTP must have been clearing out stores.

Older top version easier to clean as experienced both. Got them on my FR Tech.

I didn’t want leather on second Leon as it not very good quality and the cloth seat Leon’s came with 17” generally so dealer threw in these at a silly price. Seems there is some silver and black version of these floating about at dealers currently. Bugger to clean though.

I’m slightly biased but I have these 18” VW Spielberg Replicas from a Golf R and think they look great and a bit different and don’t look they don’t work with the car

After cleaning my daughter's 19" alloys from her Leon Cupra after fitting her 18" winter alloys on, I'd like to avoid any/all black original fitment wheels as the black paint is so soft - then there is the diamond finish on them as well. Silver wheels at least up to now have seemed to have quite a hard and resistant to marking finish, these 2019 19" Cupra wheels, well I'm even scared to use acidic cleaner on them which means after 2 cleanings using PH neutral brake dust "remover", there are still many very small spots of brake dust still on these summer wheels, her BF can sort them out next spring!

Don’t look that bad to clean, I’ve had much worse. Might look good on her white car.

Think its more the fact they are black, cleaned hundreds of silver wheels but no matter how much I clean the black ones, the next morning once they rotate, there is always a bit I have missed once dried off and some left over brake dust, going to get them coated to repel as much as I can, still like the look going for black edition look.
