Looks good. Can't wait to drive Oulton.

Track looks fairly damp still and there's not a single car in your video.

Don't think I actually got one clear lap of cadwell.

Track was dry but the weather was turning at that point, few spots of rain about.

The video was taken at 4.30pm, I think there were four of us out on track total. Shortly after (around 5 mins), one of the four crashed (his wheel snapped!) and that was the end of the day.

Was much busier earlier in the day, but we were still able to string laps together without being impeded by (or having to yield to) other cars.

Obviously I dont have the experience to compare to others, but Oulton was outstanding fun. If you plan to do a day in April, post it up as I am looking for the same too... prices shoot up at Oulton in spring/summer though :(.

Police are already saying they don't know how they are going to enforce it. There are still 100s of cars going past my house an hour. How long before they get fed up of "and where are you going?"... "Tesco". Not like they can prove otherwise unless they follow you there.

Cant wait for the world to get back to normal so i can get back on track.

Been looking at things i need.

Front discs & pads a must, pads have almost no meat left & discs are warped slightly.

Been putting off braided lines for ages too.

Been thinking of an Mocal Oil Cooler, as obviously the car gets hot out on track. Anyone run one on their LCR? Do they come as a kit, and are they easy to fit. Judging by Demon Tweeks site, the cooler is purchased on its own, and ill need to buy lines & the mountings separately.?

Cheers All

Same here.
So need to be on track.
So much so that I just succumbed to PS plus account so I can race people around the world while I’m stuck indoors.

Pads I can recommend Carbotech XP’s
For the front.
Squeal like a stuck piglet, until warmed up but If mainly track use it’s fine.
Braided is good. I have a set or two somewhere.
See if I can find them.
Have new Hel and Goodrich versions somewhere.
I fancy a cooler too.
Add to list of all the other stuff
I was doing an LSD this month but had to cancel that.
Gutted.
I find if I do 16 mins max and cool down lap the temps don’t get too out of hand.
So cooler has been lower down the list of stuff to do.
But it’s a good idea to do it.
Where about are you planning on mounting bud?

I’m tempted by tarox discs this time, F2000 or G88’s. I ran some Omp Carbon track pads a few years back and they were great, gonna look for those initially.. albeit they don’t list for my car, they do list for a mk1 Focus RS which have the same brembo callipers so a supplier off fb is looking into those for me. But I will look into Carbotech’s too.

Seen a few options of braided lines, the car still has the standard 16 year old ones so I think it’s a good upgrade to do, don’t want brakes failing on track! And whilst at it some fresh fluid.

The ambition is to eventually race the car, something like time Attack or a sprint series.. so plenty to do to make the car more competitive over the next few years.

The oil cooler idea came up in convo a while back, but whilst bored tonight I looked a bit further into it. You can get a Mocal cooler kit on eBay, with all the brackets etc. As I don’t run for lights I’d probably mount it behind one of the side grills. My mechanic prepares race cars so I’m gonna have a chat with him. I can be out on track for 30 / 40 mins sometimes so I feel the car would benefit from one

Finally got round to editing and getting the video out for my first attempt at a track day.

The brakes really struggled even though I just put fresh pads on a few days before, but with my water meth system the intake temps stayed low.

Before my next trip to the track I need to do some handling upgrades as you can see I end up going really slow in and through corners. Towards the end of the video (afternoon sessions) I really pushed the car and had a lot of understeer so know I was going to the limits.

As someone said earlier, this is the most fun I've had with my pants on!

Great video and decent driving too for your 1st Track day. Your car pulls well on to the main straight. You'd defo enjoy decent brake pads and discs, shave seconds off your lap times as you was lifting and braking early.

You say about handling, uprated springs are ok (your car looks pretty good round and out the corners from the vid) but if your considering enjoying a few more trackdays, coilovers would be so much better, especially as your cars running decent power too.

What date was it as the weather looked very good?

I'm looking at getting to Brands as soon as this lockdown is lifted myself (as is everyone!).

OK
So I’m sick of not being out there having a good thrash.
Decided enough was enough.
I’ve gambled and booked a track eve with Javelin @ Brands Hatch Indy on June 15.
Thought I’d get one in before they are all booked solid.
If it has to be cancelled then they give full refunds or credit with extra 10% thrown in.
Win Win.

Itching for a track day now too!

Nice video mate, given me the inspiration to do one myself on the next track day.

I think the rest of the year will be booked solid as everyone hasn’t been able to do them for almost 8 weeks now.

I’ll be doing a few evenings at Donny once they resume!

Hi Sparkie, I checked out June on MSV and they've a couple going too (Full Days) but I might look at the 15th too (although not sure I can wait that long :) ) It's an evening only so will sell out in seconds once the Government announce an easing.

Toying with 4th June with MSV.
