So I posted a few days ago in regards to my seat leon tdi not starting after being off the road for a few weeks, its now been in the specialist electricians garage since Thursday, and they've been on it 6 hours Friday and 6 hours yesterday, iv rang this afternoon for an update and the guy said they still don't know whats wrong with it all he said was the ecu and engine aren't communicating? They are struggling more so because the rac guy has removed all the faults 😭 honestly I just want to cry, im not even a crying type of girl, I can see this costing me money I just dont have, its already cost me 700 in previous garage visit the past few weeks 😭 I just don't know what to do 😭😩

Don't pay a penny until it's running, from what you are saying the engine ECU has lost communication with the gateway via can bus. This could be a wiring fault? or one of the ECUs has gone down? It could also be a power supply issue so they don't think it is communicating because the ECU is not powered up to communicate?
Did you take it to a main dealer?

Honestly all they said is its still not working and ecu isn't communicating with the car, so I literally said what does that mean and all I got was they dont know? Until they dig deeper, I asked them about checking my clutch switch also and they just said it won't be that 😩

Could you describe not starting with a bit more detail, do you get electrical power in the cab, does the starter motor go?

It doesn't? I had the starter motor checked, there's no sound, put the key in, first click, lights and radio come on, second nothing doesn't even attempt to start

So the starter motor turns the engine when wired up externally - but NOT when the key is turned?

As mentioned previously - when you put your foot on the clutch does the 'put your foot on the clutch' warning go out?

It the clutch switch is faulty the engine ecu will not even allow the engine to turn over/crank let alone start, as a safety precaution. Simple to check and bypass. Can you confirm if this has been done?

Yes full power to headlight lights ect, starter motor is fine and cranking but will engine will not start
Could the diesel system need re primed? This is not a difficult task for a mechanic I believe the modern cars need an electronic prime from a computer though.

Yes been wired and checked but will not start the car, it was the (first thing to be checked) no the light doesn't go off, iv previously mentioned this to the mechanic and electricians its currently with and was told 'no it wouldnt be the clutch' so I cant confirm as to whether they've took me seriously or not!

So if I ring electricians today and again push for the switch to be checked, is that definitely something to would cause the symptoms the car is having, not starting, not communicating. I don't want to sound stupid

RAC or AA if they ever check your car with their computer, They record the fault at the scene. You can ring them up and ask what the computer said and they will tell you. I asked my guy before he dropped me off to the garage with my vehicle and we got it fixed straight away with the new part.
