I visited lot of other videos on YouTube and I have a feeling Matt specialist timing gear is possibly faulty as no other person was able to get anything less than 4.7

His Golf 8 R timing showed 4.03s. It's likely his gear is a bit optimistic.

On the other hand, that gear is apparently quite accurate. 300 EUR kit. Really strange.

Also remember our Euro friends are measuring 0-62mph. They've managed it at 4.7secs I think (Autogefuhl), so would equate to 4.5secs for 0-60? So not tooooo far off ?

OK, so carwow 0-60mph 'discrepancy' explained. Appears Matt uses the rollout function on the dragi box, this records times after 1 foot and really makes a difference! Found this out watching a very good Automann YouTube clip, skip to about 1:10 and then 1:50 (although the whole thing is worth a watch)
