Hi all,

We have a 2004 mk1 Leon Cupra 180 bhp in yellow, owned it about 8 years now. It is all standard except the original wheels are now powder coated black. There is no fading of the yellow paint work, it has the unmarked black leather interior, runs brilliantly and has done under 100K miles. So do we keep it absolutely standard or should we map it to 225 bhp? I expect at some point these will become more sought after so tempted to keep it standard but that extra power would be nice :)

What do people think?

The standard LC isn't likely to be that sought after I'm afraid. Stage 1 will take you to 210-215hp. Well worth it - I had an APR remap on my old LC.

Yeh, get it pepped up.
But leave it standard otherwise. I cant see that devaluing it.
And i see the prices rising on standard sub 100k LCs.
I for one would pay good money for a clean (unfaded yellow) Cupra.
Take it to badger5 if theyre not to far away. They'll get the best out of it.

Great thank you. I am assuming things like clutch etc will cope fine with 215 bhp? We also have no idea what its worth !! Thanks for the recommendation of badger5.

I guess it should be ok depending on clutch age and how the car has been driven.

My main concern would be cambelt history.
Not something you want to let go.

Had a full cambelt kit fitted to mine a few months ago and will be booking it in for a remap in the new year.

Cambelt kit done a few months ago, wife's car for 8 years and she never takes it over 4000 revs.
