We’re they easy to fit? They look good, nice and understated
Well, the both front and rear were fitted without taking wheels off using a Allen Key style T25 Torx, the front was attached on the facing panel with the 2 screws that are already in the lining of the arch, but it needed to be jacked to put a tiny drill hole "enough to make the screw bite" in the bottom. So that was the front.
The rear again attached with the 2 screws that were in the lining, ez enough, but where it wanted to be attached underneath it said in the instructions that it would be another screw to undo, but instead its this i guess you might call it a lug, its not a screw, its got a small round raised plastic tip, and it holds the ends of the bottom trim, you are "i think" meant to pull those down, but was scared of the force needed, and if they would snap, so with those bits i just kind tucked this piece of the mudflap that needed screwing in sort of under the trim. I will get a pic of what i mean., And maybe someone can shed some light on how these pins/lugs are removed.
So front super ez, and the rear would of been easier had their been the screws it showed in the instructions, but they not going anywhere. The yellow circle is thise pin thing im saying about, and the green is where i have tucked the tab into the bumper as such, where it should screw ontop where the pin is

Thanks for that. When mine turns up I’ll get a set. The plastic pin snaps when removed. It’s a one use item. They are easy to re fit. I’ll dig the part number out and put it on here for you

Removed the expanding trim plug, and screwed in properly now, Pretty happy

Are the mud flaps an official optional extra?
Not a factory fit optional extra.

As @Piles has said, they’re an official accessory that you can get your dealer to fit - if you’re happy to pay expensive dealer labour rates to do the job ? - or just fit them yourself.
