Has anyone retrofitted LED REAR lights to their Leon which has factory normal clusters??? I'm not bothered about the FL type with the indicators in both inner and outer clusters, but would like to change the standard lights to the preFL LED inners and outers. I have no intention of retrofitting front LED headlights, as the halogens with uprated bulbs are far superior to the LEDs I had on my previous Leon - so it's REAR ONLY I'm looking at doing.

I know this involves coding changes, and I am happy doing these changes as I do have the VCDS needed, but need to know if the preFL light clusters are a direct plug in substitution for the standard units. Are the plugs and wiring the same, or do alterations need to be done.

Thanks in advance

Rear no problem need only extra wiring from the 3th brake light to the outer lights because led need 1 extra wire. And then you need some codings
Why do you need to run wiring from the third brake light to the outer lights? The LED brake light is in the same place as the nonLED cluster

Because halogeen have 1 wire for normal light and brake light
Ah, gotcha. I take it there are no brake light supply wires to the plugs then with the factory standard units? Is the rest of the wiring, and are the plugs themselves the same? Thanks
