Good morning,
I have Formentor 1.5, year 2023. The car is amazing. But there was a problem.
This screen is displayed on infotainmet

The Resume button is gray - it doesn't work. However, by clicking Retry, I go to the second screen

And this screen is lit all the time. Reset or disconnecting the battery does not respond.
I went to an authorized Cupra service center. After almost 3 hours it turned out that it could not be repaired. They will send an inquiry to the manufacturer on what to do.
At the same time, I was informed that one of the users updated the system using a pendrive and the connection was interrupted during the update.
I suspect one of my teenage children was trying to update the system. Especially since my son will be getting his driving license next year and will be given a Formentor to drive.
Of course, none of the children admits to tampering with the system.

Cupra car service says that this is caused by user interference and is not covered by the warranty and will be a paid service. They even threaten that some part responsible for the infotainment system will have to be replaced for about 2,000 euros. :(

How can this be fixed?

best regards
Marek

When everything is switched on and the service menu is visible, press the power button for about 45 seconds

I disconnected the battery overnight, but only the + pole.

When I open the car door, the screen turns on by itself, just like in the first photo.
These 45 seconds are the power button of the infotainment system?

ok.
I have reset the inftainment system before. But it's worth trying to hold these 45 seconds.
I started the car, held down the power button of the infotainment system for 45 seconds, the system reset and the screen still looks like the one in the first photo.

MOI3_EU_SE_R9690L (Version 1969) isn't publicly available so the update USB must have been purchased from somewhere.

Interrupting a firmware update can brick the unit, that is true. This is why connecting an external power supply is so important.

Perhaps resume is greyed out because the update USB isn't plugged in? You must finish the update to escape the bootloader I think.

Bad news if you can't I'm afraid!

The MOI3_EU_SE_R9690L (Version 1969) software is freely available on the Internet. Many people have installed it. I read that car services also upload this version of the software.

I downloaded the file MOI3_EU_SE_R9690L (Version 1969) from the Internet, uploaded it to a pendrive, connected it to the USBC port, but there was no response, resetting the module did not help either.

They called me from a car service and said the radio controller needed to be replaced. cost about 2000 euros.

Is this about replacing the 5FA035862K controller?

Well I didn't really search any non-english websites, so perhaps the correct version of the 1969 update is available somewhere, cool!

Yeah I don't think he can press the virtual menu button, because as stated, he can't boot to the normal infotainment system. It's stuck in service / bootloader / update mode (whatever you want to call it lol)

So if R9690L doesn't work anymore, try download MOI3_EU_SE_R9400L onto USB. If the unit is bricked there's no harm in trying to flash the previous version at this point. Good luck.

I had that situation myself once because my colleague canceled the update. You get to the menu where you can see what hasn't been updated etc. In this menu you do a hard reset, i.e. hold the power button until it restarts. Otherwise it's probably really junk

power button hold resets and still the same.
I'll look for the earlier software.
Maybe someone knows where in the car the infotainment controller is?
Maybe buy a used controller and reprogram it?

You need the same firmware here. Do you have it? the unit in the glove compartment

I tried 5FA919360AN MOI3_EU_SE_R9400L MU1940 and nothing.

I tried 5FA919360BB MOI3_EU_SE_R9690L_MU1969.rar and nothing happened. The software consists of two directories "Data" and "Meta" and the file "MQB37_SE_1969.00.ver"

If the controller is behind the passenger compartment, I will try to get to it in my free time.
