Chrome vs Copper Alloys – What’s Your Pick?

Looking at these shots of some stock spotted at CUPRA Oldham, I’m curious—when it comes to alloys, what’s your take? Would you continue the copper detailing for that bold, cohesive look, or lean more towards a classic chrome finish for a bit of contrast and shine?

If you’ve already got a CUPRA, what alloys did you choose? And what made you go that route?

Would love to see your setups and hear your thoughts!

My Ateca came with the silver ones, the copper variant of the same wheel design was available in a lot of markets but not in Turkey, so I had no choice. Anyway, I always loved silver/chrome/shiny metal on wheels :)

But a couple of weeks ago I felt that I had to ask the same to fellow forum members when it came to purchasing a new alloy wheel set for my winter tires in the thread below:

I'll probably go with the silver, but I'm still preparing myself mentally to pay a hefty sum for those gorgeous original Cupra wheels o_O

I’ve got both copper and silver so that I don’t get bored! Leon Mk3s on my Mk4, they’re my favourite Seat wheels. The silver ones stand out on the desire red better than the copper versions.

These are a stunning design! You will have to update us all once you have them on your CUPRA! I am sure we'd all love to see!

Haha, why choose when you can have both! Yes, I definitely agree with you there - alloy colour can look better with different body colours! Don't suppose you have any pictures? :)

@Railwayman

Wanted to quote your post with the silver one , but can't find the quote button @Syphon

Anyway, I love this wheel design and I am definitely going with the silver!
The silver ones are refurbished copper versions and I went for gloss black rather than factory satin finish. No major damage on any of them (one had a slight pot hole buckle) just chips and light scuffs. It took a while to find four! I believe SEAT did a silver version on the Mk3 carbon edition? They may look the same but I believe the copper versions are slightly deeper (can take bigger callipers etc) The tech guys on here will know. Thanks for your kind words.

Hi serdar. Completely different topic, but I notice you have access to exploded diagrams for parts? I think you also posted something about replacing the plastic trims either side of the centre console with the leather versions from the VZ3 last year. If so, could you re post again please? I need to replace my centre console panel on my Leon VZ2 and thought I’d upgrade to the superior leather trims at the same time.

Yes, I have access to parts catalog, and it contains those illustrations.

But I couldn't remember posting about Leon's center console trims. Do you have a link to my post?

EDIT: Sorry, that was kind of a stupid question, you wouldn't ask for a repost if you already had the link :)

Anyway, I'll take a look.

Hi Serdar, I have found the post and it wasn’t posted by yourself! Link here (hopefully) https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/members/mysticscalex.140024/ The part numbers for the two leather panels are included in the post but I also need the number for the console as I’ve accidentally marked it.

Hi, which part in the illustrations below do you need ?
By the way, first one is the exploded view of the part numbered 2 in the second illustration.
