I have the 1.4 plug in hybrid, and sometimes octopus doesn't fully change, I'm convinced it's because it schedules too many requests to charge, so the car is protecting the 12v battery. Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm sure many people have the same issue, however neither octopus or cupra seem to acknowledge the issue, I've asked them not to issue too many requests 😔 not going to happen...

Yes I went through with Octopus too. I never went through with Cupra as such as I know a dealer couldn't help me and unlikely to change the whole of VAG for the benefit of a special tariff.

I did think octopus could be a bit cleverer with joining slots together that were contiguous anyway but I think they are trying to give flexiblity to change it later and other automations.. eg. if 23.30-00:00 and 00:00-02.30 give that is no 4 interactions instead of 2. Never sure of how many interactions you are allowed but its less than 10 i think. It makes doing automations with car a nightmare..

Octopus workaround was just don't use intelligent charging, use the car's and do once a month to keep the cheap rate 🫣 I like on the weekend so can do the washing and cooking when it's changing during the day, are you aware that if they are charging it's all at the cheap rate....

Yeah aware of that too.. however have full solar and huge batteries so not really bothered about OIG in the day as it would effect my export potential.. So perhaps I should just turn off smart charging.. for a little bit..

Does anyone else think this sort of stuff is all a bit too stressful - and that a straightforward internal combustion engine is paradise by comparison?

...or am I just an old f**art who needs to get with it and accept that electricity is here to stay?

That's why I bought ICE again when I had looked at Hybrid, can't see me changing any time soon.
