Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say a big hello to everyone on the forum! 👋

I'm Matt, fairly new here and this is actually my first post. I've been having a good look around and there seems to be a great community with plenty of knowledge being shared.

I've always had a soft spot for CUPRAs, and at the moment I'm seriously considering upgrading to a Tavascan. I really like the SUV styling and size, but I still want something that stands out, is enjoyable to drive, has some scope for modifications, and will hopefully be a long-term keeper.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who already owns a Tavascan or has spent some time with one. What do you love about it, and is there anything you wish you'd known before buying?

Looking forward to getting involved in the discussions and learning from everyone here!

Cheers,
Matt 🍻

Welcome to SCN, I hope you get a CUPRA as they are great cars, for performance you need the higher power ones as heavy cars with smaller engines/battery equals slow car, enjoy. Pics when you get one or it didn't happeno_O:rolleyes:

Thank you and yeah, I'm liking the look of the CUPRA. Just need to decide if the Tavascan is the right one or should I get something else. I will share pics when I've sorted it, going for some test drives this weekend.

My 2025 Leon VZ3 300 is the current 'hobby' car, however I'm limited mod wise due to it being under manufacturer warranty until 2030!
You can still modify your car within reason, just avoid the electrical systems and powertrain (Engine/gearbox).

Thanks James, that's the problem. I've no interest in cosmetic mods, but low level mapping for increased mid range grunt and an exhaust mod would be on the cards, but of course that wouldn't go down well with my local main dealer should any warranty claim be required - even if the fault wasn't related to those enhancements.

Any ECU/TCU software manipulation is a big no no. Minor exhaust mods shouldn't cause too much off an issue, a GPF back system for example, but then it all depends on the mechanical understanding of the warranty executive at the dealer you use and if they'd chose to blame that sort of mod for a failure.

Quite - I'll leave things as they are!
