So last Saturday I have bought my first Cupra! A Cupra Leon V2 DSG from Cupra Hatfield - it was a pre-reg vehicle with just 39 miles on the clock, Taiga Grey with 19" Polar wheels and DCC - picked it up for £26.9k so seemed like a decent deal given that list price was over £38k!

I'm picking it up next Saturday so ahead of collection I checked with the dealership what software version the infotainment system is on. I was under the impression (possibly wrongly?!) that the latest software version is 1988?

The chap I'm dealing with at the dealership has sent me through the photo below that shows the infotainment being on 2650. I guessing this is a later version than 1988 - certainly it is numerically at least. Does anyone know anything about infotainment software versions? Is 2650 ok? Should I be concerned at all?

Grateful for any advice!

Mine was updated to 2768 in the dealership earlier this year to address flickering ambient lighting. The 1988 is for the previous infotainment system before the facelift of the car with it's new lights and bumpers. Search PV4RC update and you'll see a few threads across Leon and Formentor. There's lots of fixes in it so it's a dealership only update and takes about a day or so, depending on drive train, etc. I had to show the dealership the problem in person before they'd agree to apply the fix, which was tricky as the flickering was intermittent.

Mine also on 2650, have not experienced any flickering of ambient light, but according to AI upgrading to 2768 would help to resolve the connection problem at start of Android Auto, which has been very troublesome since I collected the car last November.

Wondering how I should tell the dealer so that they will be willing to upgrade to the latest firmware during the forthcoming annual service....

"Hi, my ambient lights keep flickering and I believe there's a software update called PV4 that can be applied to resolve the issue? Could you investigate the issue and carry out the update please?"

Thanks again.

When I started the car yesterday morning I would not be able to open the blind of the panoramic sunroof, and not able to check for the oil (lubricant) level via the infotainment system, until nearly 1 hours into my journey - would that also be known issues to the software version (2650)?

The roof control panel with the interior lights in is a known issue. The oil level usually needs to have a warm engine and the vehicle be stood still before you get an accurate reading.
