I'm also having decision anxiety regarding the options. I'm like maybe I should add the sunroof after all, it probably looks a bit nicer and feels a bit more spacious inside(!) but then the critical side in me goes googling "how much added heat does sunroof add" and I also see people from the cold regions saying you can also feel like a chilly breeze coming through in very cold weather (let's say -15C or so or colder so not a factor in the UK ) and why add it when it kinda negates all these interior lights popping off. Also I'm like what if the Rebel rims doesn't fit at all with the Fiord Blue paint?

I was also not initially set on the Matrix LEDs for a 900€ extra but then I saw there's a Rebel Pack only available if you pick VZ model that adds Matrix LEDs, the advanced interior lighting, lumbar support adjustment and electronically adjusted front seats with memory function for 1300€ but as I was always set on picking the Light & Sound pack as well for 950€ but when you pick Rebel pack that becomes a 410€ extra only for the upgraded sound system as the other pack also has the lighting stuff so then I calculated as I want all these options anyway you could see it as getting Maxtrix LEDs for only 760€ extra plus the electronic adjusted seats, lumbar support & memory seat on top of that so then I'm like, okay maybe it's worth it if Matrix LEDs standalone would be 900€.

I wish all manufacturers did like Mazda 6e, include everything and it's just matter of picking the color and more fancy upholstery for a bit extra, would make it so much easier for someone with a serious decision/purchase making anxiety.

Renault also build their cars to a standard spec - very few options to choose, leaving pretty much just the paint colour to pick.

When car manufacturers build their cars to a standard spec, it must also eliminate elements of complexity from the supply chain and the actual car assembly process on the factory production line. More streamlined processes should also reduce lead times and speed up delivery of vehicles to dealerships and customers.

The potential downside of standard spec / no option cars for some potential buyers is they may spend more that they originally planned to by going for the highest trim level to get certain ‘must have’ features (e.g. heated seats, upgraded sound system) that aren’t part of the spec on the lower trim levels.

Just placed an order for a Raval VZ Extreme in plasma with the panroof. We almost went with magnetic tech but there was a V2 LE there in plasma and it looked great.

I've been watching You tube videos for the last few months and finally got to test drive one this week. Its a great car, and in VZ extreme spec, it's very well kitted out for a "small car". I say small but in all honesty it doesnt feel it and it is to be a second car to our 2016 RSQ3, so very different!

Its not my first Cupra as I did own one of the original LCR's back in the mid 00's and I have fond memories of that car and the BTCC events we all used to go to as a group.

So the wait begins until maybe December sometime, we'll see

I know it wasn't targeted at me but anyway and I feel quite alone here with bunch of brits only haha ... seems the configs vary a bit from country to country.

I had to double check to make sure I've ordered correctly here. Seems like Drive pack is optional in UK but comes standard with VZ in Finland. You get the vegan leather seats with basic VZ trim though that is like 1400€ option here vs the Dinamica seats that comes standard with VZ here that are valued 1200€. (I like that as I prefer cloth material having had leather seats in my Mazda 3 and some kind of faux-alcantara material in my previous Civic 2007 that I really liked but appearence-wise the vegan leather ones are probably the best looking option though that goes well with the copper accents). Maybe there are other differences too, haven't looked that precisely. There's no paint rebates here unfortunately (unless you pick the lowest spec 52kW option then for some reason it allows you to choose among the normal metallic paint options freely but I kind of despise the looks of the 18" rims, seems very "plasticky") and 1000€ seems a bit much for the Plasma when I'm no big grey color fan although the shifting makes it a little nicer looking but I like it more when it shifts to cyan/greenish grey than the purple tone, otherwise I would have considered but actually I like the default Fiord Blue color as well as it's a more unique tone so it stands out more against other cars, feels quite stealthy and sporty that fits the Cupra brand although it varies so much in online pictures/videos so it's quite hard to tell what it looks like unless seen it IRL.

Yes there do - UK tends to like higher spec than Europe and buy more top than lower spec cars too. My honest opinion and why I have dragged my feet. Is I think the Raval is priced to high almost aligned to Alpine A290 when it is more aligned with an R5. I am doing some digging on that currently.

We have quite a large number of cars on Autotrader with up to 4k off for a car not in customers hands until Sept and my dealer interaction was 'we can search deaker stock' for you is telling too. So certainly points to possible price misalignment. As offer prices in deals I have seen are higher monthly wise than a Born was four months ago with same deposit. For MEB+ which is cheaper to manufacture and FWD. I need to dig and proper dealer conversation to align it all.

I can't speak for lease pricing or monthly payment options but here when I compared against Born it would end up at 46K something euro (with included rims, the 20" that look far nicer would be 1100€ extra though) for a similar spec Born vs ~38K something specced Raval to my liking, then I like the exterior design / shape of the Raval way more too for that more sporty look/less boxy family car looks.

Regarding Alpine A290 and Renault 5, those aren't even an option for me due to practical reasons, for me Raval can work as my primary car due to having just about enough range with ~440 km WLTP (it's my bare lower limit what I'd consider for a primary car with my driving needs), it's spacious enough on the interior which can fit up to around 2x ~185 cm ppl in the rear which was roughly my minimum, 184~185 cm or thereabouts which just and just leaves both the R5 out which has like ~5 cm less legspace and Alpine A290 even less so and falls slightly short on the range requirement as well. Not to mention the generous up to 441 l boot space on Raval which even exceeds many mid-size car offerings thanks to FWD drive.

I was initially set on a mid-size car but since MEB+ cars did offer enough practicality in these aspects, this compact car also became an option and when I look at the other aspects like design and driving feel, it made the choice even easier. For me the practicality of the car is what makes it worth a bit extra compared to those other mentioned alternatives. It's a compact EV with great practicality for its size, I don't feel it has any direct competitor if those aspects are of priority but tbh it does seem to do great overall in most aspects and I suppose that's why pricing is higher. It doesn't look good on the paper but when you find out more how it drives, how practical it is for its size, the design etc. it makes up for it in the end.

Now too many orders and a 54 kWh battery shortage across Stellantis.

Yeah I was a little concerned the 225bhp would feel a bit slow, but it doesnt in reality, It feels plenty quick enough tbh.
I've never driven the Born mind so can't compare!

In all honesty Born VZ is too quick great fun probably a tad too powerful. iIs biggest asset is big battery and range.

I'm a happy in the sense Raval isn't TOO powerful because it leaves more options open for me for next time, would be hard to go backwards from a faster to a slower, but as long as it's not slower than your previous car, it's usually no issue. In my case I go from a Mazda 3 with a rated 224 Nm torque / 8 s 0-100 km/h which doesn't even feel like it matches quite that in reality due to lack of turbo and it only starts feeling decent at higher rpm, it feels quite sluggish if I have to be honest and the only thing I didn't quite like about this car and Raval VZ at 290 Nm / 6.8 s and with that instant torque should feel substantially quicker in my case so Raval is more of a "suitable" first step into the EV world with plenty of options then next time as 6.8 s is still quite conservative for many new EVs.

BTW, don't know if you've seen it but there was actually an article published earlier this summer that there at least has been a desire to push out a AWD system, significantly higher performance version of Raval but I guess VAG wasn't quite that keen on it and wanted more practicality. Oh well who knows if they actually follow through sometimes in future but yea the range would suffer quite a lot and price would be rather high and very niche for this kind of car so it's not for me eitherway but interesting nonetheless, would be a true "pocket rocket" car https://www.goauto.com.au/future-mo...could-get-awd-after-all/2026-05-29/99367.html

I did read an article where they were looking at 4wd using hub motors. I reckon if that comes out it would be limited production with a price way above the current VZ anyway!

I'm keeping my older car which is a tuned RSQ3 that I've had 6 years. The wife wanted something newer but I just can't part with it and so the Raval will be the "newer car"

The Raval VZ is obviously a lot slower but in the real world, 0-30 with the instant torque, I reckon it'll be a lot of fun

I cant say there is any other paint that actually goes that well with the sulphur imo and I'd maybe prefer the copper accents given the choice on the outside.
You any idea when the illuminated front badge is available?

You can also get basic VZ model and spec it like an Extreme version and pick whichever paint and stay with copper color accents if you don't pick Ahead pack if you want better compability with other paint options.

VZ Extreme is just a pre-packaged option with certain alternatives, but nothing stops you from spec your own too.

Here CUP Bucket seat is part of the Ahead pack but yea seems like you can only get those with sulphur green interior accents though. UK doesn't seem to have that option it seems to add it with basic VZ.

In Finland the Ahead pack is a 1200€ option for VZ that includes:

- CUP Bucket seats
- Electronically adjusted seats & mirrors with memory function
- Lumbar adjustment support
- Some vegan leather door trim and integrated neck support
- Some 3D printed elements and extra design stuff
- Sulphur green accents
- 19" Rebel sulphur green 235/40 performance spec tyres


I might have picked the sulphur green accents on the tyres with Fiord Blue if it had been an option without the performance spec tyres but seems like you kinda have to get the Ahead pack in order to get the sulphur green so you get those special seats and stuff as well that I personally do not want. I hate these kind of "lock-in" options instead of just providing this and this seat or rim option with any trim levels.

No idea on the illuminated badge. I don’t want the Matt due to keeping it pristine.
Today I sat in an Extreme with the sulphur. What is interesting is the grey plastic you get inside is not purely grey. With sunlight it changes to a purple colour just like the iridescent exterior paint. Other details inside were sulphur with the cup bucket seats.

This model was also the exterior Matt green. I have never seen the purple tint interior trim on the many YouTube videos I have watched. The car I sat in is the first right hand drive Raval I have seen and sat in. Not sure if the iridescent grey interior colour is a new innovation. I have test driven a Raval LE and cannot remember seeing this definite purple colour in the grey plastic interior trim.

I've nothing against the sulphur accents per se, its just there is a limited list of colours and i dont like the dark green matt, I was tempted to go glacial white but the wife likes the flip paint of the plasma

No doubt at some point the options over in the UK will open up and allow more combinations.

As for "Vegan leather" isn't that just a posh name for PVC lol
