Battery Change, this was supposed to be easy!

Hi All
Just replaced the battery on my 2018 Leon ST. Done the battery adaptation with OBDEleven (Pro plan) but Ive got the following fault codes which will not clear.

From the log file:

01 Engine
Trouble codes:
U112300 - Databus error value received
static
U042800 - Invalid Data Received From Steering Angle Sensor Module
static

13 Adaptive Cruise Control
Trouble codes:
U112200 - Databus implausible message
static
U112300 - Databus error value received
static

44 Steering Assistance
Trouble codes:
B1168F2 - Steering angle sensor no initialization
static

76 Parking Assistance
Trouble codes:
U112300 - Databus error value received

The car doesnt have active cruise control, which I assume means it adjusts speed according to traffic. I have previously enabled Park Pilot which again Im assuming is the graphical display on the centre multimedia unit when engaging reverse. Going into vehicle settings it shows ESC and Park Pilot as not currently available.

Ive tried several times to clear these faults, turned car off, started and stopped again with ignition on but to no avail they just come back. On the dash I get "ESC inactive"
"front assist!", "Hill hold inactive", when engaging reverse it comes up with "Park Pilot!"

Any thoughts or advice welcome but not a box of matches, I might just be tempted!

You may try "Steering angle sensor initialization" in 44-Steering Assistance -> Basic Settings & try clearing the faults after that again. The other faults look like they were caused by this missing initialization.

Search for videos or written procedures for that, it probably involves turning steering wheel to its left and right extremes.

Have you tried taking the car for a drive, I seem to recall when you disconnect the battery you get a load of errors but after a 5 / 10 minute drive they all go away.

Last time i had battery out i cleared em all on the drive, start engine, full lock one way then the other, all gone.

Thanks all for the replies. I hadnt taken it for a drive as I was a bit dubious about doing so given all the supposed 'faults' that were showing and I hadnt discovered the bit about turning the steering wheel left and right. As predicted by the advice given, hard left, hard right and before even getting off the driveway all the warning lights went out!

Also check if the autoclose of the windows are ok. If you left them closed, they still function if I am not mistaken. If you left a window open, you need to calibrate it.

- Press and keep pressing the button down for about 5 seconds (whilst window is open)
- Lift and keep lifting the button down for about 5 seconds (whilst window is closed)

Now the car knows the open and closed position of the window again.

(Whenever I disconnect the battery, I usually leave 1 window down )

I always just support the car's systems by using another battery connected in via the OBD2 port, or before that, a "memory saver" connected in via the OBD2 port, doing that in that way allows you to cover each of the battery leads to keep them "safe" while swopping batteries. It doesn't need to be a big battery just to support a car while doing a car battery swop.

Slowly turn the wheel all the way to the left
Slowly all the way to the right
Slowly back to the middle
Engine off
Ignition on

Done. Clear historic faults

No need to for a drive
