I have a Seat Leon Cupra 300 preGPF Manual. Im looking to get a Cobra Sport exhaust (as they're just down the road from me) but Im having a hard time determining whether to get resonated or non-resonated. Does anyone here have a preGPF Cupra with a Cobra exhaust either resonated or non resonated? I'd be interested in hearing it in person as videos don't give a true sound experience.

Afraid I don't have Cobra went with Milltek but when I was talking with my garage about the exhaust I told them I did not want a very noisy one (please be aware i am running stage 3).

Milltek said the non-resonated was a better option and i have been very happy with it.

Im the same, I don't want a noisy thing that's going to annoy the neighbours and can be heard from 3 streets away but I would like a bit more deeper 'growl'.

Was there much of a difference from stock with yours?

When I had a MK1 Cupra R I got a resonated from JBS and there was practically no sound difference (but I could tell there was a VERY subtle different in mid range power). Im more bothered about the sound though.

Where are you based?

How is this sound compared to yours:

EDIT: Sorry for all the questions but also when you hear them from 3 streets away and making a right racket are they usually full deletes? Res and back boxes? Does just a non resonated have the slightly refined sound in this video?

I had a resonated Cobra on my 1M Cupra, nice quality exhaust (combined with 3" downpipe with sportscat).

If they are down the road from you, visit them and ask if you can test both (or let them advise you properly). You can always say something that you will "advertise" for them here to sway them haha ;)

I asked them about a year ago but they said it's not something they can accommodate. It's not like they have a vehicle for every exhaust combo for people to come listen to (they bloody well should it would make things much easier lol).

Also I can't really ask them to fit one and then be like:

Ah too bad. My 2 cents:

Sound is very subjective and very hard to judge from videoclips. I tend to choose the "softer" resonated solution, as you can always make it louder. The dampening material also has to "burn in" before it will sound how its supposed to sound.

But you can also reverse this logic and go with non-resonated and add in a resonator later if you think its too loud

If I look at the Cobra pictures, I assume its pretty loud...

That's what worries me. The videos make it seem like its pretty refined just a more deeper tone but I really don't want to be this guy (no offence to him mind) nor do I want to spend close to a grand and there be next to no difference.
