Hi,

Just to share our 'experience' with our VZ e-hybrid 245. After 18 months of ownership we started to ear some strange noise upon each gear shifting. Somthing close to an owl hooting, mainly after cold starts, but whatever the electric or thermic mode; upshifting and downshifting as well.
I quickly highlighted this to our local dealer, who didn't find it at this time. Few days before its 2nd birthday, I had booked for a closer look by the same dealer, since the noise has become almost constant. Our Formentor was then roughly 28000km on the clock.
The diagnosis pointed a problem on the DSG6 dual clutch. They had to remove the entire engine and gearbox assembly to change the dual clutch. It was their first time on a VAG hybrid (the dealer is a Skoda / Seat / Cupra dealer for more than 30 years and (one of ?) the biggest in a 30km radius)...
It took them 6 or 7 days for the complete operation. Unfortunately, they even lost 2 days because of 1 of the 4 electric pumps of the electric engin cooling system was out of order (complete cooling system draining seems to be mandatory for this operation on hybrids). They had to order it (in the VAG Supply Chain network) and wait for its delivery...
Problem was solved. 4 months and 3000km later, the owl doesn't hoot anymore.

Fortunately, we took the 3-year extra warranty upon order. Smart decision: it then costed us nothing.
In the mean time, it had its 2 year- / 30000km service:
- engine oil & oil filter replacement
- cabin filter replacement
- Front & rear wipers replaced too.

MMI SW has also been updated in the same time since it regularly remained muted upon car start (no radio, no phone, no sound from the MMI at all, whatever the volume level...)

Hope it doesn't happen to you guys.

Isn't it 6DSG (wet) for eHybrids instead of 7DSG (dry)? Or I may have mixed up.... By the way have the dealer found what actually had failed?

My bad, you're right, it's a DSG6 indeed. I've edited and corrected.
Well, since the gear indicator has disappeared in Normal mode after an update, and as I barely drive in Sport mode, I don't really pay attention. Moreover it’s my wife's car, I probably mixed with my own Skoda Kodiaq which has a DSG7 and is 2 years older than her Formentor. 🙂
