Hi all.
Having a few weird issues with my 2016 fr 1.4 ecotsi.
Basically last week when it was parked in the sun and heat the cars had a few issues.
Started the car and loads of lights on the dash, power steering, traction, no stop start, no parking sensors and no headlamp adjustment.
I checked the battery which was 10 years old and it was down to 12.1v so I went and got a new one.
Its an EFB battery with 65amps etc and ive programmed it to the car on a obd machine so it's all coded in.
Turned all the warning lights off but the headlight one wouldn't go out
Now upon starting the car all the lights are back on again, which sometimes do go out as I drive, sometimes they dont.
What should I look at next??? Is is best to check and clean fuses and look in the engine bay for any wiring damage?

I had a similar issue on my wife's Leon last week. The rear offside brake guard has rusted to bits and the debris was contaminating the ABS sensor and ring. Once cleaned off the fault lights all disappeared except one which had to be cleared with OBD II.

The reason there were so many systems flagged up was that they all relied on the signals from the ABS sensors to work. I'd recommend getting an OBDII dongle. I bought it years ago, it cost around £60 at the time and it's paid for itself over and over.

Ok, thanks for the reply.
Did you have loads of warning lights on startup which would sometimes clear when driving and sometimes not?

Yes it guess it could be, just as if a battery is showing 12.5v but has hardly any cranking amps.
I'm convinced it could be wheel speed sensor related as I had 4 tyres a month ago and one of the front wheel brake backplates was rubbing the disc as it had started to corroded, hopefully just some metal debris sat on the magnetic sensor

Had abs codes, but they came up as passive/sporadic. Erased them and went for a spin with live data and all sensors were reading the same speed etc.
One code that won't go is regarding the lights, which is c103615. Think that's the headlamp level sensor as its value was -1715mm on the machine.

Now I've removed the level sensor, so I cam get the part number from it, ive started the car and I have all the lights back on which is annoying. Surely a faulty level sensor wouldn't make the abs, tyre sensor, and parking sensors not work

C103615
U112300
U041500
U042800
U101700

These U codes all seems related to your Data/CAN network - so it's plausible a faulty level sensor is 'disrupting' this Data/CAN network.

U1123 - Invalid or missing data for the odometer Databus, Received Error Message
U0415 - Invalid data received from the ABS control unit
U0428 - Invalid data received from the steering angle sensor unit
U1017 - Invalid or missing data for the primary identification

I can't see any C1036 15 code in my system - but from google:

C103615 (or C1036 15) is a diagnostic trouble code in Volkswagen Group vehicles (such as VW, Audi, and SEAT) indicating an "Open Circuit or Short Circuit to B+" in the Left Rear Level Control System Sensor. This sensor measures ride height to automatically adjust headlight leveling (AFS).

Common Symptoms
  • "Headlight Range Control" error message on your dashboard.
  • Headlights may point too low (reducing visibility) or too high (blinding oncoming traffic).
  • Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) warnings.

Likely Causes
  1. Faulty Level Sensor: The internal potentiometer in the left rear height sensor has failed (very common).
    • Damaged Wiring: The wiring harness or connector leading to the sensor is corroded, broken, or rubbed through.
    • Dislodged Sensor Arm: The linkage connecting the sensor to the suspension may have popped out of place or broken.

huge thanks for that info.
Ive ordered a new level sensor today.
my original part number has been superseded according to SEAT to 5q0512521e.
Should be here in a couple of days.
funny thing is all these lights came on after I gave my son and his rugby mates to the beach. Maybe as they are big lads the sensor has gone past its limit

Fitted a new level sensor. All the lights went out so I was happy. Soon as I drove towards over around 5mph the lights started to come back but do go out again after say 15-20 seconds.
I'm popping to get the fault codes read later
