Seat Bolsters Cracking

Anyone else had an issue with their seat bolsters cracking. My car is a 2021 with 67,000 miles and they are cracking pretty badly.

I live in the west coast of Scotland so it's definitely not sun related. Has anyone had similar issues? Never experienced this on a car before.

Wow that's bad
There have been issues in the past with certain seats in MK3 Leon Cupras, but I'm not sure there have been any reports here so far for the MK4
Hope you can get it sorted, but I'm afraid I can already hear the dealership saying "Ah, but you've sat in it...it's wear and tear Sir"

Yeah i can also hear the dealer saying about 'wear and tear' despite it never been an issue in other cars I've had. Even when I lived in Spain.

I've been quoted about £160 by a local car trim guy to replace it, not sure if that's a good price or not but it didn't seem unreasonable.

Just frustrating that it will probably be slightly off colour compared to the rest

Well if you check out ebay MK4 Front seats are going for anything between 200 - 300 but obviously the issue is you have to one that is the correct color for your car.

That's of course true and it's difficult to prove seat damage is faulty material rather than any outside influence but the bolsters in our MK3 Leon FR are pretty much perfect, despite 8 years of 2 people getting in and out of it, both wearing jeans with rivets, keys in pockets etc.

Bad quality, not "real" leather, just leatherette. After 2 years my sons Seat Leon Cupra st 2019 it cracked....and it happend in Sweden.

Well the Ateca black leather after near ten years is perfect . Perhaps Seats preoccupation with real leather at the times wan't misguided except on animal rights. Veggies like man-made fibres.

Maybe... but our Leon has "Simil Leather" bolsters, or as I call it "I can't believe it's not leather"
Perhaps 'pleather' isn't as good as it used to be

Have you tasted it ?. Probably didn't get the onion rings with it and that cracked .

Two of my previous Nissan's had seats of 'reconstituted leather'! Reconstituted from what???...err...leather
