Took my facelift Mk4 Leon eTSI on a long drive today and noticed the centre console was getting quite warm. The flask in the cup holder was warm to the touch, and the wireless phone charging pad also gets pretty hot.

I’ve read that on cars with the three-point climate system, this can sometimes happen if the rear fan is set to a high temperature, so I checked that and it doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Could this be a heat shield issue, or possibly something to do with the HVAC ducts under the console not being properly sealed or connected, allowing warm air to leak into that area?

Has anyone else experienced this on their Leon?
