CUPRA has officially opened the UK order books for the new Raval, giving buyers their first chance to place a pre-order for the brand’s upcoming urban EV.

It is a significant moment for the model, not just because it brings the Raval a step closer to UK roads, but because CUPRA has also confirmed that selected versions will qualify for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant. That means a £1,500 saving on eligible 52kWh models, helping bring the Raval in at a more competitive price point.

To mark the launch of UK pre-orders, CUPRA is also offering a range of early incentives for customers who get in quickly.

Early order offers for UK buyers

For the initial launch period, buyers will be able to order a limited V2 Launch Edition, which adds £1,500 worth of extra specification at no additional cost over the standard V2 trim.

CUPRA is also offering free standard metallic paint across the 52kWh Raval range for orders placed up to 31 August 2026. Buyers choosing premium...

Hi all. These special launch editions won't last. They've already sold out where I live. The same spec would now cost me 5.5 k euros extra. So if you are interested, you might want to hurry.

Pretty much ready to pull the trigger on ordering a Raval, coming from a 69 plate VW Tcross, which has served its time and been a hell of a family car, its just time for a change and something more engaging and fun to drive. Was hoping to treat myself and go for a VZ Extreme, granted this is before I see how the full financial side stacks up (been told the dealer should have info around mid to late june on pcp details), but i have an idea of where I want and think the the payments will be. My issue is I totally have my heart set on the Plasma colour, but it just doesn't work with the current VZ Extreme trim, with the sulphur exterior accents and the sulphur interior. Have yet to venture into a dealer, but my question is, does anyone know if the alternative interiors are coming to the VZ Extrme trim and, fingers crossed, will it be before we lose the early bird paint offer.

Cheers.

Hi. Keep us posted if you order and please remember to add yourself to the CUPRA Raval Owner's Register. I think it can pull off the colour combination personally, but I'm probably too biased :) No mention of different interior colours I'm aware of as yet.

I've just had a call from the dealer I ordered a V2 Launch Edition from.

Pro's: As an existing Cupra owner they will offer a dealer contribution; fairly good interest rate on PCP; expecting deliveries around September.
Con's: Trade-in value on my Born is dismal, well below GFV and current settlement figure; that means I'll need a fairly big deposit, but I kind of expected that.

I've booked a test drive for next week so I'll discuss terms in more detail then.
He's just brought one of the Ravals back from Barcelona and he's certain I'll be very impressed with it! Well, he would say that, I suppose.

I confirmed my order today. VZ Extreme. As I have a Born like you. They offered a loyalty discount of £750 on the 0% finance offer or a £1000 on the 2.9% deal.

How they make up the offer on the Pros and Cons. You could flog in on We Buy Anycar etc splitting one from the other. Other cunning thing is not to agree the trade in at time of purchase deal then claw back, but ofcourse you can flog it elsewhere in the meantime.

Might be a bit late if you’ve already ordered but I would have consider other options before placing an order with a Cupra dealer;
  • Buying - car broker Drive the Deal are showing Cupra on their website as one of the car manufacturers that they offer discounted prices on. They’re listing the Raval and offering a circa 12.5% discount off list price on the V2 Launch Edition (discount includes the Govt. EV grant). PCP APR looks good too @2.9% and there’s a finance deposit contribution of £1,000 for customers who qualify for Cupra’s loyalty programme; I’m assuming this is existing Cupra owners, which you are. Discounts offered by Carwow dealers can also be quite good (sometimes better than Drive the Deal) - I’ve not looked to see if Carwow dealers are offering discounts on the Raval yet but worth checking out.
  • Selling your existing car; In addition to We Buy Any Car (WBAC), car buying services that get positive mentions on forums are Motorway and Carwow. WBAC tend to be ‘less generous’ with their (usually lowball) valuations than other car buying services’ valuations. With any car buying service, always be 100% honest about your car’s condition and declare any damage / defects however small (e.g. stone chips, parking scratches and dings) so any initial indicative valuation doesn’t get knocked down when the car is viewed.
In your position, I’d get check out the valuations various car buying services websites so you can see how they compare to the dealer’s p/ex valuations; if they’re better that what the dealer is offering you, you can decide how to use them in your discussions with the dealer.
If you could get a much better deal using the above options than the deal offered by your Cupra dealer, you could consider cancelling your order, although check the small print in your order documentation to see if you’d forfeit any deposit you might have paid. Alternatively, your dealer might be prepared to match - or get close to - the best broker price for a new Raval and the best car buying service valuation for your existing car.
When I bought my current car (not a Cupra or any other VAG brand), I got the dealer to pretty much match the best broker price and their p/ex valuation on my existing car was close the best car buying service valuation. The dealer was also local to me and the service from them from the initial enquiry stage to car collection day and subsequent after sales servicing has been excellent.

OK, thanks for the input, here's an update. I went to the dealer to see the car "in the metal" and discuss the finance.
The problem with a trade-in is that my current Born is in negative equity so any shortfall has to be included in the repayments of the Raval. I could sell to WBAC etc, but there would still be some shortfall. However, since I'm almost at the end of my contract, the Born has very low mileage and is in excellent condition I can opt for voluntary termination, simply handing the car back. Then there is no trade-in and I only need to pay for the Raval itself.
I still get the £1,000 dealer contribution, Govt Grant, low APR and full discount of the metallic paint. As the car has been pre-ordered, I will get the Launch Edition, which is now fully subscribed so I wouldn't be able to change my order if I waited and haggled.
I'm very happy with the Raval, the interior feels about the same size as the Born and the dash is a big improvement, especially the instrument binnacle behind the steering wheel. The order is now finalised and I just have to wait until September for delivery.

I pass on PCP dimension since I always buy them outright except for 40 years ago when there was 0 percent interest. Drive the deal etc might not have them yet ? Or discounts. So for cash buyers you can separate if you want who you buy from and who you sell to. Interesting enough Morrisons rent out their car parks to We Buy Any Car operation. Those bollards layed out and transporters coming in and out getting in your way and the cabin. Thought it was just my supermarket that did it, no. So old school cash buyers separate the two. Discounts they hold back on till its been launched for a while, 6 months or so but if a discount it's off the secondhand value. All good fun. If your trade in is old enough you might now be too bothered but watch if that route, and they say we will evaluate that later.... means they will lob it off that end.

Six months probably or something. The premium of getting something soon out although I reckon build quality least in the old days would go down on cars (thinking Fiat). You might find you get more choice early on. The discount sites give you the figure for the dealer to aim at but will balance their loss against the trade in value if they feel they need to. Comes down to how long you want to wait for that new car or just treat yourself.

You can configure a Raval on the Drive the Deal website now and it’ll show you the actual £’s discount you’ll get. Drive the Deal don’t supply the cars to customers; they just place your order with their appointed Cupra Dealership(s) and (presumably) they get a commission from the Cupra dealer for acting as an introducer. After that you deal directly with the Cupra dealership in the same way that a customer would who walks into the dealership to buy a car, and car you buy is a UK spec car with the same 5 year Cupra warranty.

As regards PCP; if you’re a cash buyer, it can still make financial sense to buy on PCP if the car manufacturer is offering financial incentives such as a decent finance deposit contribution. For UK buyers, under consumer contract legislation you have a right to withdraw from the PCP contract within the 14 day cooling off period, pay the settlement figure stated in the contract so you own the car outright, and you get to keep the finance deposit contribution (you don’t have to repay it to VWFS). I’ve done this before with VW and IMHO it’s a no brainier as the finance deposit contribution is effectively free money. You only pay a nominal daily interest amount from the PCP start date up to the date you exercise your right to withdraw from the contract. Back in 2020 I exercised my right to withdraw 3 days after the PCP start date so paid 3 days interest @ £2.07 a day / £6.21 total in return for keeping the finance deposit contribution 👍.

Well that's the target figure in the opening para. Nah don't believe in this PCP stuff. Well as you say or didnt say some dealers pull the price if its not PCP but if you could trick them. That was one of the Seat two direct sellers that didnt want to honour the Car Wow price if cash. Obviously hoping to net it in. At this point I can't be bothered with . Financial gaming to buy a car feels like something you don't want to do but PCP people must love it regularly 🙃.

Seen one now. You probably need to be less than 6'1" / have good flexibility. Here Maps as one thought and 3D graphics on landmarks something we are use to on the mib2 high possible 3/4. You can use your Car Play or Android Auto.

Nothing in the demo appstore at the minute. Sennheiser sound system worked well. Dealer had to be treated to my Seif Keita remix tracks on flac and the intensity setting. That pseudo surround sound system.

They sold one today already on the demo car.

For the technically inclined. Android Automotive:
