Rear Tail light warning

Hi,

I recently got my rear left outer light damaged and I bought one aftermarket from eBay, and it shows check the rear light warning, i removed that plugged back my old one and the error disappears. i have plugged all the wires correctly as oem. can someone help me if I need to do any sort of coding as I have obdeleven 3 or should i purchase the overpriced oem one.

When I swapped one on my Mk3 a few years back, no coding was needed. The one I purchased was original though.

Check for any corrosion signs, as this will give extra resistance. I bought new units, no coding is needed.

Do you have the LED or bulb version?

Cheapest is seldom the best. :escape:


That said; it may be possible to buy an inline resistance module to fool the bulb warning circuit that you have the OEM version fitted.
