Now. my cool just lacks a certain ammount of grunt after swapping from a cammed saxo vts conversion. been reaseaching as im new to this scene and decided on a cupra conversion because im tight and like to have a project and pay less to the tax man each year

so what would i need for this? is it simply plug and play with a unlocked ecu
(onbiously o know id have to wire the turbo related sensors in)

thinking of buying a written of cupra for convience?

As stated above it would be far easier.
Pretty much everything is different on the cupra from the cool
It would be hard work, dont get me wrong its do'able!
You need as you said, engine and gearbox, a whole different loom to either replace or wire in and appropriate sensors that are extra from the cool! plus the ecu!!
What a faff, the extra you save in tax will certianly cost you in the conversion andf the rest!

Here, there and everywhere ;)
Easier to buy a Cupra..there going for under 3k for a decent example and less than 2k for one that needs attention.

If you do the engine swap and dont tell DVLA or Insurance you will only pay for it in the end!

so many people try. so many people give up... here is a SHORT list of things you will need.

engine
geabox
driveshafts
hubs
clutch change from cable(in 1.4) to hydraulic (in cupra)
intercooler
oil cooler
new exhaust
front brakes (carriers, callipers etc)
Brake lines
rear beam
rear discs
rear brake assembly to take from drum to disc.
fuel pump
(ABS, TCS if you want to fit them)

then if you want it to be a little more like the cupra:
different clocks
dash
steering wheel
seats
windows
bumpers
skirts
spoiler
etc etc etc etc

oh and then you have the thing of telling your insurance company that you have done the above 'mods' to your car.... or was that going to be kept on the hush from them ?

i may be very wrong, but your initial attitude does leave some things to be desired, and i honestly hope you dont get a cupra.

Itc a complete waste of time, If you crash and someone claims off you not only will you lose the car, the hard work and the money you have put into it but also you have a good chance of the tax man knocking on you door with a nice bill of the tax you have been dodgeing.

Just do it properly, Cause its just stupid doing stuff like that cause it allways comes back on you

you deffo are a troll...

in your other thread:
i loved my saxo and i would :p. i know theres nothing you can do in terms of perfromance :/ just wanted a bit of a louder ride :p

also you say
are all cupra clutches hydralic then?

no cupras are hydralic, they do however have a hydraulic clutch. and yes ALL cupras have them.
i dont see why seat would make some cupras with a cable clutch and some a hydraulic clutch.

Troll? Your a bit of a tard arnt you? Because maybe the hydraulic clutch aS used for most cars after the year 02 before then only performance models where fitted with them. I know a cupra classes as a sports car but so does a punto gt and that's run of a cable :/. Not to meantion only 30bhp and a tonne or two less. And sorry I didn't get the spelling right my iPhone doesn't have spellcheck :p

Don't bother it's not worth the time and money needed to do it just buy a Cupra and save yourself alot of money. If you want to start modding one please buy one that needs work doing to it don't ruin a mint one as i cant stand people who buy mint cars and fook them up with plastic tat etc.

Suppose but how much do written of chords retail
For? Seen a few for about £1300 with hardly no rear end left. That would do me fine

Don't tbh mate depends how skilled you are at repairs and how deep your pockets are ;). I wouldn't get one with a smashed front or rear end just one thats been stolen and recovered or something

What would be wrong with a rear smash bud? I'm not to fussed about the beam. Thanks for a constructive non bitchy comment though. Appreciate it. Think that's like the 1st I've had :)

The smash might apparently be cosmetic, but with metals( trust me im a materials engineer who deals with failures on power stations everyday), you cant tell what the damage is, there might be cracking in the beam welds etc etc and mis-alignment.

All sounds great untill you slam on the brakes and the car drifts all over the place! Im being totally honest here and trying to help you out.

If you want a cupra and want it to be fast, buy a cupra and spend the money you would be spending on the bits for your cool on say an intercooler, suspension, brakes, things to make a safe/sound cupra better!

You can get an non smashed cupra cheap enough and work on that, you dont need to repair crash damaged cars or do anything illegal!

Simpless

do you not stop and look at why your getting such bad replies in your posts even in the straight through exhaust thread you started everyone is laying into you because your attitude is awful.
every thread ive started which isnt many ive always got helpful replies theres a reason why some of the replies you have got are a little bitchy but with good reason as you openly plan illegal actions.
also theres a reason why insurance will be high on a cupra for you and thats simple the case that your young and immature not all 19 year olds are immature but you are one of the many peole on the roads giveing young drivers a bad name and making there premiums high by having an illegal car.
