Hey guys, I need your help.
I'd like to fit an aem boost gauge and an egt gauge in the center air vents. Both gauges are 52mm, so I'm guessing I'll need some kind of adapter to mount them on the vents. I've seen several videos of people who have done it, but they all say it was custom made or the shop that did it for them is now out of business.
Do you know if there is any plug and play pod for the vents? If I'll need to custom make one, how am I supposed to do it?
Finally, I came across this: http://www.thettshop.com/latest.asp?cat=5009&product=802005 which looks really good, but it's made for the mk2 tt, is it going to fit my vents?
Thank you!

Hi

When I fitted my guage in the air vent I basically got a sheet of plastic and used a cutting circle with a drill theres one that fits exactly in the air vent :) then I cut about 5 circles of plastic basically cut as many as needed to fill the vent then us a small cutting circle the size of your gauge then I glued all the circles together then wrapped it in gloss black. Viynal and to secure it in the vent I used the small black bessel round the vent it clips in so holds the guage in place :) http://i560.photobucket.com/albums/ss48/NathG09/0b9953e8.jpg

Hope this helps

oh my god that looks amazing....

how did you build it and where are the gauges from?

Thanks!
The pods are originally meant for the mk2 tt, so you have to trim them a a little bit in order to fit, the other thing I changed was to use the outer circular part of the stock vents which is gloss black and glue it on the OSIR vents. You can google them, they were around 20 pounds each.
The gauges are from here and got them for 300 euros both, but the prices from the UK are similar.

so you used these pods http://www.thettshop.com/latest.asp?cat=5009&product=802005?

how did you customize them so that it still works as a vent? sorry to sound stupid but it looks totally different to the picture of the tt vent...

Yeap, you can see more pics here: http://www.ttstuff.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=TTM2-OPOD-MONO&Category_Code=T2BOIN

The pods let the air flow, I didn't change that, I only trimmed it as I said to fit the gauge...

Hi queen.

How did you remove the OEM vents? I have been pulling but don't want to snap something.

Hi,
Just give them a good pull and twist and eventually they'll come off.
Remember to hold the console while you pull the vents.

Ah okay I see.

Am I right in thinking the honeycomb section and black surround will come with it?

σας ευχαριστώ queen

Yours look good, I think with something like a gauge that you want to light properly with your headlights and speedo its best to pay an auto electrician a few quid to wire in.
