Hi,

Just went to refuel my car and they put 58,79 litres / 10,73 Uk gallons

The deposit was like this before refueling

How is this possible? I mean, I know the deposit takes more 2 gallons / 10 litres than anounced when you remove the air but this time it was like more 4 gallons / 20 litres that it should...

It's an 1.4 16V

Thank you!

I've never been brave enough to go over 50l

usually I'm 43l to the pump clicks off and then another 5-6l on top of that.

That's usually what I do, actually I'm afraid this could damage something.
With the luck I have with this car is almost certain...

I asked to fill the tank and they filled up untill the deposit cap.

I think that if you regularly overfill the tank completely, there is a good chance that you will end up damaging the carbon fume assembly and that would mean replacing it.

I never ever overfill the tank. Always stop as soon as it clicks. What is the benefit of this? (other than being able to travel further). Also just for knowledge, what fuel does everyone use? I use 99 RON from Tesco momentum.

I think the only benefit is more miles on 1 tank. The fuel I use depends on where I am, but either V-Power or Momentum

Ah nice! Wouldn't think of using normal unleaded unless I was super low and on the motorway! Super unleaded is worth it for a couple quid extra per tank!

I will only put enough normal in to get me to a normal station. Then fill the tank with decent fuel.

It's always worth it. The difference in mpg pays for it in mine.

So super unleaded is good for the engine and gives better mpg? I thought it just had cleaning agents in it to clean the engine through getting rid of the crap that builds up over time! Wow :)

if you own a cupra with a 1.4tsi id recommend only putting v power or tesco momentum in.
