beeping

Hi guys, Ive recently got a 2001 1.6 Leon Sand had no problems up until about a week ago that when i get into my car in the moring and start it the temperature light flashes red and beeps. It cant be because its too hot because its not been running. Possibly a sensor failure? Any help...
